I guess I'm not sure what Edomonton fans are expecting from a coach that has only been at the helm for 19 games and is still getting his feet wet as an NHL skipper. He's inherited a team with a lot of talent but is still getting to know these players and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Gotta give the guy some time... Certainly needs more than 19 games to figure things out.

The thing with the Sabres right now is they have an overflow of guys who are grinding type space eaters, they do not have pure goal scorers. They need to get goal scorers. And i could throw an offer of less proven, talented players but you haev to give to get.

If it does not make you flinch in what you are giving up to get a talented player, there is an issue.

We had a top 5 PP and top 10 PK last year. This year bottom 3rd in both. Why (frank) with the parts that are working?

5 on 5 was where we had issues. We've allowed by far the most goals against in the league. Goaltending has been a part of that but even if they saved say 10 of those softies, then we still have 65 goals against which is still pathetic. Ference was brought in to be a difference maker and leader and has not lived up to the billing.

That's all100% speculation on their part. MDZ is in NY's dog house. So they assume that's who is being looked at. MDZ does nothing, Zero, that the Oilers need. We have 3 MDZ's in Schultz, Petry and Larsen.

None of these guys have actually gotten any of this from teams.

Yakupov should go, it`s not a coach`s fault for benching a player or limiting his play for playing irresponsible hockey. He is not competing for his ice-time and he is a serious defensive liability. Now he has become a locker room distraction...time to go rookie.

You don`t win championships with guys like this and I wouldn`t include him in the long term plan. Now is the time, get some pieces back to start making this team compete. We were all drooling over the `what if`we had a big 2nd line C to go with Nuge Hall Ebs etc....well...GO GET HIM!

Seems that side by side we still seem to have deemphasized defensive play by the wingers in both Kruger and Eakins systems

There are a lot of issues. To me the one that is hurting the most is not having anyone who is a legit top pairing guy on most NHL teams. Until we get at least a top pairing d-man I don't see this team going anywhere.

I am not sure but its getting messy now because of it... I mean Gags has sucked ass all season yet he is at 19 mins a game and is a turnover and dzone catastrophe.. and worst centerman- yet we are down a goal to chicago near the end of the game and eakins puts Gags out to take the draw... I mean FFS it looks like he either doesnt know whats going on or maybe is told to shop some players... you may be on to something

Vanek is a pure goal scorer no ? Foligno is going to be a very good player, reminds me of Shanahan.

Take Yak out of this situation and there is still plenty of issues.

But are those issues with the coach and his system or the players we have on our team. I can't give our players, mainly our young kids a free pass anymore. There is no way we should have gone through as many coaches we have and still end up with the same crappy results and keep blame it on coaching.

Ive watched a few games I think Schenn will be a better player. Couturier looks like bottom 9 forward but sure I'd do it. They need to get bigger and more physical as a team. I believe this roster would win more games then the current one with out giving up too much age
