The goaltending is what will knock us out before the medal rounds.
- LeafMan

not sure if serious or......

canada's goaltending is fine so long as the team plays as a team.

hopefully they're smart enough to pick relatively mobile d-men.. that big ice is gonna give the NA players serious fits.

can we please not go here today?

all i've heard for the last week is moaning about unfair treatment.

- Dozzer

I brought it up and it is relevant since suspensions are being handed out for similar actions. I just wished our wussy hockey media made an issue out it and made the NHL accountable.

James Mírtle @mirtle
From league: "Scrivens now leads the NHL with a 1.24 goals-against average and .955 save percentage in eight appearances this season."

- Fruitcakenipple

I'm surprised that not every general manager in the league wasn't offering multiple first round picks and prospects to the Leafs for Scrivens...

I mean playing behind that defense, with the most overated player in the NHL, those horrible corsi scores, etc....

heck why didn't Vancouver offer Luongo and Schneider for Scrivens at the time - obviously everyone (except Toronto management) could see just how good Scrivens was.

And can you imagine how stupid Nonis must be for trading Scrivens and Frattin away and getting nothing in return?

But it is all good, I can just imagine how little Scrivens will sign for as an UFA at the season should his numbers continue that way...

I mean Edmonton should have been offering up Hall and 1st for Scrivens for sure.

yes folks - that's sarcasm - and this little post by Mirtle is just another example of everything that is wrong with the Toronto hockey media. it started with Cox and Berger years ago... and continues in fine fashion.

will you still be laughing when he knocks Price out of an olympic spot?

- Dozzer

that's never going to happen... because Hockey Canada knows how much crying and rioting would go on in both Vancouver and Montreal if Price and Luongo aren't there.

they probably fear lawsuits from the respective cities.

You guys may remember saying Scrivens was gonna be better than Reimer a couple of seasons ago, or not.
- Feeling Glucky?

I was always a Scrivens fan, but let's not go nuts. Reimer has been great this year.

Today marks first practice for Bozak since suffering hamstring injury on Oct. 25. Eligible to return on Thursday, but that seems unlikely.

well.. i honestly dont believe suspensions are handed out based on what happens on the ice alone.

if kadri played for the panthers for instance.. he would of been fined but not suspended. tho since he plays for the leafs there is no concern about draw power.

its not fair, but its the truth.

if you are garnering the front page of your local sports section you are not a concern of the NHL.

this is why teams like boston get left alone.. their competition for the sports fan market share is too steep. cant afford to lose the drawing names. period.

luongo has played well enough to go.. he gets the easy in as the incumbent.

price has played great as well. he will be the back up.

honestly i am okay with either. never disliked luongo, just his contract.

I do agree with this. The bankrupt Southern teams really get away with a lot. I laugh at the idea the Leafs get favours from the league. They get hit really hard.

Would ANY team have been stripped of a draft pick for paying for Frogren's transfer fee for his Swedish team?

I know, but it should be made aware of by our media since it would garner headlines, hey, Kadri deserved the suspension and we all know it, Seidenberg saw Ryan coming, stopped and intentionally led with the elbow hitting him in the head, it was more intentional and obvious than the Kadri hit. It is disgusting, Ryan was injured on the play, btw.

no need to rush him back, once kadri returns thursday they'll have him, Holland Smithson and McClement.

Smith likey sent down.

dont race bozak back and risk him hurting or re-aggravating the injury

exactly. the leafs dont get the sweet heart treatment on ice at all.

on the business end.. yeah sure.. they prolly get catered to a little.. but people often mistake the two.

exactly... shouldn't rush him (seriously).

particularly since he is as bad a player as he is - I'm mean have they really missed him at all? clearly Kessel and JVR have been flying without him? and the penality killing hasn't missed his face-off skills either

In fact, in the preseason, Bisonnette jumped over the boards and got an automatic 10 games. But the NHL owns Phoenix. It got cut down to 3 games. Clarkson got 10 of course.

And all we heard was how Phil Kessel got away with so much for slashing the NHL's biggest goon.

how much you want to bet that the local sports media are paid to keep mum about it?

the leafs do not want to be put into a position where they have to start addressing bias about the NHL.. remember.. the brass of the leafs are part of the ownership of the league.. the last thing they want is a conspiracy that threatens the integrity of the game.. because frankly.. that hurts ticket sales down south, which adversely effects the leafs.

well.. he is an upgrade on what we have in there now... and the leafs havent done overly well without him (tho i think that was more about playing a winger as a centre)

not a big fan of bozak.. but i'll take him back right atm

serious question... I believe it was two seasons ago, when TooToo went hard to the net and hit Miller I believe.... was he suspended for that one?

not sure?

they don't have to make it into a conspiracy... that makes it seem planned and well thought out...

merely have to keep pointing out the inconsistencies - and there are plenty of those.

the conspiracies - if there are any - have more to do with franchise "allocation" and Gary's baiting of the respective cities and their fanbase - such as Quebec - and prior to the return of the Jefs, the folks in WInnipeg - and all the related nonsense of keeping a team in Pheonix.
