If he can't play for this one who could he play for?
- howie feltersnatch

I think I misspoke. Zadorov could be a full time 6-7 defenseman on this team, pending a trade. I like him more than Weber and McBain for sure. Teams that he could play full time for right now? Edmonton, Colorado, Detroit, Florida, New Jersey, Philly, Washington, Columbus, maybe Anaheim. Just opinions here, don't flame.

Your best players should play on your NHL squad at any given time, period. If a 19 year old is better player than a 25 or 30 year old here and now, he deserves to be here. There are young players that need to develop in lower leagues, and the reason is because he's not better yet. If a kid is good enough to be here, he should be here. All the other "development" stuff will take care of itself. Grigorenko isn't good enough to be here right now, which is why he should be (and be allowed to play in) the AHL.
- buffalofan19

I'm unsure if you realize he has an age restriction to play in the AHL. If you do, I apologize. Otherwise, he needs to either be in the Q or the bigs.

I am aware, which is why I had the "should be allowed to play in" in parenthesis. I understand that he's a bit of a weird situation, and this conditioning stint is basically a way to circumvent the transfer rule. My point is that there are players at age 18 or 19 (Ristolainen being one of them) that can hold their own just fine in the NHL, and should be here, especially when you consider the alternative (McBain, Tallinder, Weber).

If he's good enough, it is. If a player has what it takes, he'll eventually figure it out, even if he's thrown into a role prematurely. It might take longer than it should have, but eventually he will figure it out. If a player is completely "ruined" because of it, he never had what it took in the first place.

Not sure why people think the Sabres are competing for a playoff spot now. Not even close, they have a ways to go yet. Sure they may be working harder but hard work =/= wins, not when they aren't skilled enough. The Sabres have 3rd line players on their first line often, that does not equate to a team competing for the playoffs.

This defense corps is good enough to win games. It's the forwards that are grossly inadequate.

I don't understand why people are saying send down the kids=time to compete for the playoffs.

Exactly, despite the coaching change there is still a loser mentality flowing through the Sabres locker room. The Amerks are not losers, at least not yet. I want these guys to have some confidence, and our current vets (Bar Moulson, Ott, and Ehrhoff) don't really instill confidence in people.

Getting the crap kicked out of you on a regular basis is not a good experience builder.

Looking for someone tonight to get the Derek Roy Hat Trick:

-Dive at least three times, drawing at least one penalty (either against the other team, or for diving).

-Skate slower than John Scott to the bench after every shift.

-Record a goal or assist while his team is either ahead or behind by 2 or more goals, but not at a crucial time of the game.

Bonus points for partying on Chippewa after the game and puking.

Here you go , I know it is fun to bash Garth for being a Dolt at times . But you look like a much bigger Dolt when you call him out and you are in the wrong

To translate my last tweet. @StephRDSJunior said he talked to a source who confirm Grigorenko would be going back to juniors.

Wasn't intending to flame, just didn't know your logic behind your statement. I think he's gonna be good. I don't mind sending him down though.

Hmmmm interesting reasoning.

That's like saying it worked because it worked...or it didn't work because it didn't work.

Why not just chop a players legs off? If he comes back stronger and better than before he was meant to be successful. If he doesn't, it wasn't meant to be.

I call BS! Zadoroz and Grigorenko and I am pretty sure Larson did not even play in the 2 games Nolan was the coach. He said everyone starts fresh. Doesn't add up. Ted Nolan is an idiot and they are probably having trouble finding a GM to take over with this jack ass behind the bench!
