Kesler & , corrodo /4th .. to Philly for Giroux & Simmonds - Canuckfan2006
Kesler and bo maybe get you that ... Maybe
Giroux having a slow start after having a hand injury should not be a surprise really and shouldn't devalue him |

Fine your team is garbage and you lost to one of the worst teams in the league! You happy now.

So now that we are past the twenty game mark what is everyone take on AV vs torts ? - Redmile247
I think people prefer Torts but the results seem to be the same (if not worse) so... |

Hate a burn your proposal but I don't see any way Kesler, Corrado, and 4th would land Giroux, let alone Giroux and Simmonds together.
Kesler, Edler, Hansen, 1st, 2nd for Giroux and Simmonds would be my proposal.
Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Giroux-Simmonds
Now we have a real top 6 and a transition plan for the Sedins. But even if both Kesler and Edler waived thier NTCs, PHI would still say no. |

I think torts just does things that make more sense to the common fan
Play your best players the most
Play whoever is playing well a lot
If guys are slacking give them poop
AV seems to favor guys no matter what and hate guys for no reason
He does have torts healthy scratch playing well tho
To be fair too torts he is in the toughest division compared to AV in the worst ... I could actually see a scenario where the Canucks have 10 more points then the rangers but miss and the rangers get in

No chance. Giroux's contract is terrible and there's no way you trade Frankie. Tanev and Stanton are young guys who can play. Add Frank to the mix next year or this year and you can trade someone like Edler who would fetch a lot.
I agree that if Kes can't play the centre, he needs to play the wing. The question is who is the better winger for this team? Burrows or Kesler? I don't see how both stay if we're going to get something of value in return. An Edler/Burrows for Subban/Patch deal would help both teams but the cap numbers don't fit.
I'd deal Kes/Edler to Philly for SC, Lecavalier and a 1st or Kes to NJ for Henrique and a 1st.
The fact that Gillis is a terrible GM and can't make a single good trade makes any trade that improves this team impossible. The fact that the Aquilinis wouldn't buyout Lu or take any deal they could and eat cap worries me even more. They will probably not buy out Booth either b/c he'll get hurt again and they won't give him the gomez.
I loved this team with the griffiths, quinn and burkie. Those were guys you pulled for. I don't give a rats arse about Gillis or the Aquilinis. Francesco needs to keep his greasy italian paws off of the business and bring in hockey people to do their job. |

I find it interesting that you went out of your way to criticize the blown call that cost the Canucks a shot at the game the other night but didn't even mention the early whistle that robbed Florida of what should have been a goal. Essentially handing the Canucks a point.
I take it your outrage over officiating only applies when it goes against the Canucks. It's fine and dandy when it's in their favour. |

it was a delayed penalty. watch any game and 'touching' the puck rather than having possession gets you a whistle every time. he scored on a rebound that luongo 'touched'.
should have counted but there's no consistency in this league related to this or any other rule the refs have control over. the only thing that's been fixed this year is icing and it's been a great change. |

I believe the best comment I have heard was after torts lost his mind with the no goal the other night was if he would have liked Darryl sutter to have a challenge in 04
It's a Canucks thread tho so the convo should generally be about the positives and negatives revolving around them not other teams |

Sorry that you had to sit through the shoot out, I had the advantage of simply turning off the TV. - Marwood
If I'm Torrs, next game that goes to a shootout I use Stanton, Sestito and Tanev. The message here is that you guys suck so bad we're better off going with three players that have less than 10 career goals combined. |

They scored 30 seconds later with the man advantage so it is the same result |

If I am GM and we are out of the playoff picture at TDL then everyone would be for sale. This core has had trouble scoring for 3 years. You score by going to the dirty areas. No one aside from Burrows does that regularly. There are no sharp shooters and big hit players , so everyone would be on that list. |

I'd go with Luongo and Lack. Can't be any worse than watching Daniel. |

Rockwell came up with an excellent idea yesterday, send Booth home in case he gets hurt again. The last time the NHLPA stepped in and the NHL agreed that the Habs and NYR or PHi could use early buyout. If they do the same we will get the capspace immediately |

get on the phone to GMMG now VT. i'm sure there are enough canuck fans who will kick in a few bucks to make this happen. hell, the players would probably chip in too. if we are short we can put an online christian donation up on the line and the religious and hunting fanatics (if they're actually different people) can top us up.

i don't think this is a big deal. edler would welcome a deal and the players we want are all from good teams and not from crappy ones so why would he care? |

When Montreal bought out Gomez early they didn't get the cap relief until the season was over. It was just done so Gomez and Redden in New York would be able to sign with other teams |

Agreed, I would make burr untouchable as well as Corrado+Tanev+Stanton, lack....everyone else goes if there is an offer for them. I don't like tambellini/feaster rebuilds/retools |

I was, I've wanted him gone for 2-3 years now, I would have moved him for a pick and kept Ballard.(not that Ballard is better, but I think under a coach that didn't hate him, he's be a solid 4th/5th guy) |
