Take a look, and compare that 3rd line to our 1st.
Great chemistry on one, with all 3 players contributing.
With that top line, its only Giroux and Voracek. Hartnell is doing jack poop up there. - flyer_nutter
what player if you could pick any in the NHL would go well with Giroux and Voracek |

I find it so frustrating when a ref 5 feet from the play doesn't call something a penalty and one 50 feet away does |

He is just so (frank)ing useless up there. So-so at best in his own zone. Cant handle the puck, and has stopped doing what made him a good NHL Player for a while now.
Consistent grit, and net presence. Where are those things? Where is the Hartnell that used to be a pest? He just skates around laughing on the ice/bench.
Horrific. |

Serious question. What in the hell has happened to Hartnell? He doesn't do anything that made him a good player any more. He doesn't agitate and get under the other teams skin. He doesn't get to the net. Doesn't win battles in the corners. He doesn't shoot the puck well. He used to score so many goals from that spot in the slot. Now he acts as if there is a restraining order from his ex wife that says he cant go within 10 feet of that area.

Honestly I wonder if Laughton could make the jump up there next year. Its a big leap for a kid, but I'd like to see him given a shot.
If they go the FA route, I'd like to see them make a run at Gaborik. Kind of biased here, and the line would be a little soft but on a reasonable deal I would like him up there. |

completely agree. he scored tons of goals and had great success creating havoc in front of the net and sitting in those soft spots. drawing penalties by agitating but being smart enough to not retaliate and getting people off their game. it's like he thinks he can play like a sniper now but that's not his game and why he looks useless.
kinda like how the team starts scoring doing the right things and then get too confident and starts trying to make every fancy play which turns into turnover and after turnover and no goals. |

Just me, but that anger/intensity he brought to his game seems to be gone.
Watch him out on the ice, or bench. He is laughing and joking all the time. I'll go as far as saying he is an anchor for that top line right now. Its 2 guys working, and Hartnell... |

I liked Peter Laviolette as a coach and he did some good things with the Flyers, and I wish the players hadn't quit on him.
At the same time, I kinda want to go back and punch him in the face for every time he played Sean Couturier with two wingers who can't score |
