Yeah, Ott could have been called, too...but there's always a chance that they won't.
I get the sticking up for a teammate stuff, but there was time to pay Ott back later. - Jsaquella
It's not like we don't play the Sabers again either. |

Amazing what happens when you start playing 200 foot hockey and provide good puck support |

That whole sequence pissed me off. You have a power play coming up, just ignore the BS. Ott comes in and pops Zac, then Rosehill negates the PP.
I'm so happy Rinaldo got the ten, instead of a minor.
I'd sit both of those clowns next game...every damned night one of them does something dumb - Jsaquella

With the way our third line is playing, I feel good about facing Tavares at home and dictating match ups.
I am worried about the PK though. Mason will need to be on his game. A win vs the Isles would be huge |

The Flyers have not yielded a single even strength goal in the last five games, and just one in the last six.
Kurt @Kurt_BSH 42s
@BroadStHockey @billmeltzer three 5-on-5 goals against in the last nine games. |

i know! same for the pens. i know the pretty tic tac toe stuff will get all the press, but they played a tremendously solid game all around, largely due to simple execution of the fundamentals |

crazy to think that games against them are actually some of the tougher ones on the docket instead of the gimmes of years past. JT is incredible |

As long as they don't get complacent they should be good against NYI. I worry every time they play the Isles though for the simple fact that they have owned the Isles for so long now the tendency would be for Philly to look ahead. Hopefully the fact that they can get .500 with a win is a good motivator and they come out bangin'. |

They dismantled the Caps. That was like Edward Norton curb stomping the guy in American History X |

they did. like i said though, it was largely due to just effectively performing the simple necessary aspects. not letting guys camp in front of the net, and doing the same in front of holtby. playing in the neutral zone. not needing a 170 foot stretch pass every breakout.
when the skill is there, it will shine through if you do the basics right. i just wish they would remember this. |

It's hard with that kind of talent to just go out there and put on the work boots.

i agree with you that often that is exactly the type of mentality that occurs. however, it is total bullpoop. one shouldnt be mutually exclusive of the other. the combination is what separates the good players and teams from the great ones.
im not saying malkin and letang need to turn into lappy, but still. if you bring a disciplined, dedicated, and generally smart approach to the rink, that talent will shine through naturally. |

Keep that up and we might just get to .500 lol.
Seriously, solid play overall tonight If Miller doesn't play lights out, that could have been a blowout. 1 for 8 on the PP, so improvement needed there. It's funny, because our tending has been so good this year, I almost forgot how well Emery played tonight. It's like I expect every game to have solid goal play. I have criticized Homer this year, but I will tell you his moves for tenders could not have been any better this last year. Wow. |

emery's been razor sharp lately after a slow start. no pun intended. people poop on him for his lateral movement. not accurate. he's quick and explosive and precise in his crease movements while tracking the puck. he doesn't have the flexibility/range of mason, but it's not holding him back. i'm giddy. |

I had a buffalo feed and their announcers were trashing Emery. Saying he had lousy rebound control and that the sabers should be able to get a lot more by him. Whatever...Razor has looked good in most of his games. |
