Campbell is a VERY good defenseman by eye and by numbers. He drives puck possession better than anyone on Florida and it isn't close. His contract was insane when he signed it, now it's high but nearly as prohibitive as it was before and the Cap is always going up.

Ha. The Cap was kept down artificially. It was negotiated to stay down.

Drew Shore for Martin Marincin.

Shore is a two-way forward with above-average hockey sense and burgeoning offensive skills. He is a solid skater with good mobility and a quick change of direction, especially at his size. He is a gritty, competitive player who can be a determined forechecker as well as a tenacious defender and he is solid in the faceoff circle. Although he will not dazzle anyone with an array of exceptional skills, he has a well-rounded game and has shown a deft touch at the front of the net and a good, accurate shot away from it.

I think this is a good way to get a Centre with size in our organization that actually projects as a 2nd line Centre. Wouldn't cost NHL talent to acquire either. As I spoke with a Panther fan, he agreed Shore was expendable with Trocheck, Bjugstad, Barkov in front of him.

40 points in 64 AHL games and has some NHL experience already.

I know it was, just wanted to through it in there though. The cap will continue, like it has in the past, to go up each season until there is another lockout.

I think I draw the line there. I personally wouldn't give up Klef or a first (in this deal). I'd add another decent prospect like Gernat or another pick though.
