If NYI included a 2nd rounder I'd say its a deal that puts both sides into a very good position.

I don't see this holding any weight. Both teams are in good positions in their conference and the stars would have to align for both teams to feel comfortable.

I still feel like Statsny is more expendable than ROR right now. Plus, Statsny's value is higher now than it has been in years. He is a very legit 1/2 center.(depending on the team) ROR is still incredibly young and is only getting better every game. He is the two way center the avs need in that second line slot for years to come. Wish he wasn't a little greed bag though

The kid has been rumored to traded to like 4 teams in 4 days. Obviously the leafs are just shopping him. Both him and MDZ are just 1 dimensional forwards, I hope the Avs just let both of them be unless they can be had for super cheap. Roy would only be doing his job by kickin the tires on this one but I'd be surprised if anything came of it.

If leafs wanted RoR, then they should start with Reilly instead, and yes I mean START.

Ottawa on the other hand could be interesting.

I don't think gardiner is worth a single one of those players, and from the sound of it Tor is shopping him rather than the other way around. He has played pretty bad this season, especially in his own end.

Liles is a good 6th/7th Dman which I admit has little value but, it's not as if the Avs have much depth at D. Gardiner would be an immediate top 4 on the Avs and would hopefully grow in to a true impact offensive D man. If that's not the vision of Gardiner you believe in then don't come knocking. The Leafs aren't selling low.

I think you could negotiate the pick, I'd be okay with a 2014 5th rounder in return instead.
