Morin may take longer to develop than any of them - PhillySportsGuy
I would say that's the case, Morin will never be a big point guy. What he needs to continue to work on is foot work, angle of pursuit, & using his size to his advantage when the big hit isn't needed or available. |

From what I read, he seems like a more physical version of Coburn. That's a good player, but I think the Flyers brass was expecting more offense. |

I don't believe that at all, they want him to be able to contribute but I'd doubt they are expecting him to be putting up 30 plus points a year. |

The offense may come, but I doubt he'll ever be much more than Coburn offensively...which is fine. Coburn is a good, solid 2/3 defenseman. |

One player I am impressed with when I can watch him is Haydn Fleury of Red Deer. A really solid D-man but has offensive potential even though it's really raw. |

I remember on draft night hearing about his 'untapped offensive potential' |

That's said about a lot of players, but the coaches have to also put them in spots to do it, now Morin does see power play time. It was with the top unit but now it's mainly with the 2nd unit. |

Now you want a guy more likely in the Flyers range for the draft go with Anthony DeAngelo of Sarnia (also from Sewell, NJ) he's a good puck moving offensive D-man......Getting much better in his own end but needs work.
The coach who works with the Sarnia D is former Flyer Andy Delmore.
DeAngelo leads all OHL d-men in scoring. |

I can't ever imagine the Flyers drafting a small defenseman in the first round.
He does average almost 1.5 ppg though |

Luca Sbisa was a fairly small dude.
EDIT Nevermind, thought he was smaller than 6'2" 207 |

DeAngelo is 5'11. I guess is the team is loaded with big, hulking dmen, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a kid like that. |

Finally a name the blunt, football obsessed, overly-italian Philly radio personalities will be able to pronounce! Its a match made in heaven!
PS: I was listening to tonights game on the radio on the way home from a trip. Good win, but it sounded like NYI was controlling play for most of the game. Maybe thats just cause it was the NYI feed? It sounded like we were blessed to get away with a dub. |

No player is running away for the lead as #1 pick. Solid to around 15 then is decent but not like last year. Word from scouts are 2015 will be good. |

I'd say the Isles carried the play in the third but not by a sizable margin. Whenever the Flyers needed a jump, the Couturier line did the trick. The top line got the even strength goal, but they didn't play particularly well. |

Not blessed per se, but they definitely hit a lull in the second half of the 2nd, and continuing into the third. The Isles controlled that stretch of the game, and Mason stood on his head, again. |

Dunno... The Flyers jumped out to a 3 goal lead within a few min period..Sometimes the other team makes the plays to respond and the Isles scored 2..The Flyers then answered with the 4th and an en goal. |

The third line looks good. Simmonds playing much better. Still watching the games on delay with the DVR. It's not the system, the line brawl, no it's me not watching live that is way they are winning. |
