Not blessed per se, but they definitely hit a lull in the second half of the 2nd, and continuing into the third. The Isles controlled that stretch of the game, and Mason stood on his head, again. - Jsaquella
I'd say the final score was not indicative of the game. |

The third line looks good. Simmonds playing much better. Still watching the games on delay with the DVR. It's not the system, the line brawl, no it's me not watching live that is way they are winning. - LJF
Sorry man, but you can't watch them live anymore. |

Exactly how I looked after the fourth goal. - EducatedOpinion
Haha. What is this? It is hilarious, but I have absolutely no context to put it in which makes it that much better.
And yes, Reader! Both he and B Schenn are really just quietly great so far.
I know they are not as bad as they were or as good as they are, but at least we all know they can get it together. I have no idea where Hartnell's snarl has gone; it is half of the reason he has that contract.
Since we have been playing so well I think it will be Status Quo, but if Hartsy goes on a streak I will not be surprised to see him dealt.

One month ago, on October 23rd, the Flyers were limping along at 1-7. Tonight they are 10-10-2. - Jsaq
I knew it all along. - PhillySportsGuy
After that 0-3 loss to the Devils, which, in retrospect, marked the low point, I said this:
"...my near term/current perspective is that that team is vastly underachieving due to a number of factors and circumstances, some of which we can see and some which are not as clear...regardless, I still feel pretty strongly that this level of play is about as low as the team will go. At some point the spell will break and the goals will start to come...it may take a week, may take longer the old get old, and the young get stronger.." |

Haha, I know! But did you like make it? Or is it from some car/web toon?
Totally not important, what is important is that McCann went to the Yankees. Now I am petrified Reuben will overpay for Ellsbury.

Coots has looked really good the last few games. he is even throwing his size around. too bad he is still snake bit when shooting. glad homer is more patient than I am cause I would have dealt coots by now lol.
btw - tonight simmonds played the kind of game that reminded me why he is one of my favorite players in the league. |

When it was 3-2 and the chips were down, the #1 and #2 forwards for the Flyers just out worked the Isles for the puck in the corner leading to baby Schenn's beauty of a goal. Even if they aren't scoring, that is the kind of determined play I like to see from their best players.
By the way the Isles are a damn good team, at least their forwards and their top D pair.
#5-6 D not very good, but neither are the Flyers.
Very good game to watch, much closer then the final score. |

When Berube matches him against 91, he's going to get a ton of ice.
That line has been outstanding since Downie joined the party. |

Nah man I just found it. It's from the Bear in the Big Blue House apparently which is what the file name was. I found it on 4chan as a reaction pic don't judge me yes I browse 4chan sometimes when I'm bored....
As for Ellsbury.... Ruin Tomorrow needs to just realize this team won't win anytime soon. Hit the replay button the late 90s |

Moving basketball type block by Hartnell on the 3rd goal. Moved to prevent the defenseman from getting to Roo. - PT21

That's an understatement.
That line has been a sure thing. I'm sitting in front of the TV watching and saying, "sweet the Dr. C line is out there. Now we'll get some momentum" like it's (frank)in nothing.
Even the Leino/Briere/Hartnell line didn't have me with that set it and forget it attitude. Same with the Jags/G/Hartnell line.
It's awe inspiring. |

They cycle, score, play D against the other team's #1; this is really exciting and fun to see. Bundy had a great comment on the radio broadcast about them tonight, they are setting the tone for the rest of the lines on the team right now, or something close to that.
Couts confidence is up like 200% recently.
Downie is a very smart hockey player with skill and soft hands. Very underrated guy IMO. |

The entire team as a unit is playing fantastic. Of course there are the occasional mistakes but for the most part, it's clear everyone knows what their role is.
I do have throw out there that it does bug me when certain fans look for mistakes or something to complain about. Scott Hartnell is not the most creative or talented player and he's good for a couple mistakes a game but he's not hurting us. Guys like Read and Lecavalier are making a lot of noise out there as far as positive production, while a kid like Brayden Schenn is quietly having a fantastic season and people still look for reasons to complain that he might not be making himself as noticed as all three players on the third line. Schenn is playing outstanding. This is his breakout season. He's convincingly become our secondly leading scorer and he's been putting up points all season long.
There is no way we can keep up such a streak forever, so enjoy the ride because this team is really showing how good they are. |

Words of wisdom.
The December schedule is brutal with much tougher opponents and a lot of it on the road. Enjoy today. |
