The entire team as a unit is playing fantastic. Of course there are the occasional mistakes but for the most part, it's clear everyone knows what their role is.
I do have throw out there that it does bug me when certain fans look for mistakes or something to complain about. Scott Hartnell is not the most creative or talented player and he's good for a couple mistakes a game but he's not hurting us. Guys like Read and Lecavalier are making a lot of noise out there as far as positive production, while a kid like Brayden Schenn is quietly having a fantastic season and people still look for reasons to complain that he might not be making himself as noticed as all three players on the third line. Schenn is playing outstanding. This is his breakout season. He's convincingly become our secondly leading scorer and he's been putting up points all season long.
There is no way we can keep up such a streak forever, so enjoy the ride because this team is really showing how good they are. - Schenn2shine
Schenn has a solid finish. I'm comfortable in saying he finishes most all of his scoring chances, and with an exclamation point to boot. Kid's got a wicked release.
We can't keep the streak up...maybe not. But this team is playing a lot like the Kings of 2 seasons ago. Maybe we can't keep the streak of winning hockey up, but in my eyes there's no reason we can't keep up this brand of hockey. |

My 3 stars:
1. wayne Simmonds: was simply a monster tonight
2. Matt Read: His new contract is starting to look like a bargain
3. Steve Mason: Absolutely bailed them out for much of the 2nd and the 3rd. Far and away the team MVP so far - BiggE
simmonds was awesome and the whole couts line again

A lot of people like to rip on Holmgren, and sometimes for good reason, but the trade for Mason is starting to look like one of the more one sided trades I've ever seen in my life. The dude still hasn't given up more than 2 goals in any of his starts for the Flyers. - EducatedOpinion

It's ok one of those three was unearned, so he the 2 goals or less streak is still alive for him! |

Anytime. Then Emery gave up 4, started a line brawl, beat up Holtby, taught everyone a valuable lesson about love, tolerance, and punching a man when he's down, and the Flyers haven't looked back since.
I'm going to write it all off as Steve Mason's master plan. He's just been that good this season. |

When Berube matches him against 91, he's going to get a ton of ice.
That line has been outstanding since Downie joined the party. - Marc D
It's going to be quite a bit of time before anyone gets matched up against 91 again. |

Clearly you're not here that often... Love? the guy is Jeff Carter 2.0 while Coots is his Richards.
Go make your ridiculous trade offers to another board or better yet execute them on NHL14. - Yosimar89
What trade offer did I mention?
Clearly you're butt hurt from someone else.

When did this blog get so negative? - PhillySportsGuy
Didn't realize there were rules on what we could and couldn't talk about regarding the Flyers.
Guys get so bent out of shape over one comment. Unfreakingreal. |

I watch this game and I look at a rising star like Tavares who's right there nearing his peak at becoming a Super star but his team seems to be so far behind him. Than I compare our team. We have young talent for every important position between the ages of 20 and 28.
Top Center = Giroux
Big Shutdown Center = Couturier
Power Forward = Simmonds
Top line Winger = Voracek
Number Goalie = Mason
Shutdown defenseman = Luke Schenn
The list goes on. We're really lucky. Obviously we can improve but we are right there. - Schenn2shine

Meh... this is what happens when you fall asleep during the first intermission putting your kid to sleep and wake up 6 hours later to find out you're entire night is screwed. |

Hopefully some sort of complacency doesn't set in now that they're ".500". (In my book, they're still 10-12... earning 50% of points still means you're in the bottom half of the league due to the frequency of 3 point games.) |

I don't think Berube will let them get complacent. They now have 2 winnable games in Florida and I think they will keep the pedal to the floor.

That is indeed our Unicorn. It used to be a goalie, but Mason/Emery. |

Not trying to be pessimistic but historically they have played bad on these Florida swings. |

Coots leads all forwards in ice time. Seems like he's pretty valuable. - aightwebang17
Unpossible! He's only 20, he's not going to develop skill wise any further, nor mature physically from this point. He's as good as he's going to get. ship him out! do it now Holmergringoblin |
