Just to play devils advocate.
This is the best performance we will probably see from Streit/Vinny.
The age will be an issue there.
Perfect example on that hot attempt by Simmonds. The guy has all the heart in the world, but lets get real. He should be a 3rd liner. You need the talent level of guys who will bury that if they play top 6 minutes. |

I think the thing with Giroux is the same as it was with Richards/Carter.
They are good players but not on the level of say Toews. One of the issues with the team, too many secondary pieces. From top to bottom.
Its only 2 goals (frank). 20 minutes left, they can easily take this game even in regulation. That puck-handling is just horrific though to watch. - flyer_nutter
This franchise has overrated their best players for awhile.
They want to believe Giroux was worth every bit of that contract. That was such an easy deal for them to make because they want to believe they found and drafted a player on the level of a Toews/Stamkos. |

When i think someone is trolling, I call them on it. I didn't think you were trolling at all. I just happen to dislike the chances of the Flyers flipping the switch and flipping the script, tonight. - Doc_Sarcasm
Overall is Steve Mason been good for you? |

They need (frank)ing jagr - PhillaBully
What Jagr provided that top line was puck-possesion.
Much of what made Leino effective, and let Briere get open.
The top line now features Giroux as the puck carrier. Smother him, and that line is shot. Voracek is too streaky. |

Kind of a meh call though. I've seen it called though so whatever.
Take note about how the lightening will score on this 5 on 3, something the Flyers can't do |

Mason's been excellent. This is the first time in what seems like forever that goaltending hasnt been an issue.

Also, he was a good example and took the media pressure off of the younger guys. I never liked that they let him go. I know he had issues with health and such, but I think him just being around the team gave them extra motivation. |

scott hartnell really said that they maybe underestimated the panthers? really? when did they get into a position to underestimate other teams? i guess that's the mentality of a team that over over last 2 years blows it all getting to .500, thinks that's good enough and they are hot poop now, and don't show up the next few games, then have to battle back to .500, rinse, repeat - dillpx183
They collectively want to believe that the talent is there to beat these teams on a regular basis, but they are mistaken |

He is not. Which is fine, but you have to pay players accordingly. Not just focus so much on the flash and potential.
Which is why I am okay with keeping say the Schenn brothers long term. Just dont pay them to be more than they are, or put them in positions they arent good enough to be in. Jut for an example. |

Same with Pronger.
I just really hate what they did with Giroux. Hate it. There was no (frank)ing need to rush anything with the kid.
I wouldnt blame him for tuning out rich man Snider if he came down again giving the team one of his annual "wake up" talks. I will stand behind G, to the end. |

Jagr provided this team an example of professional work ethic. This team doesn't have any. Guys show up to camp out of shape and take periods and sometimes whole games off. This is the laziest team I can remember. |
