Amsterdam is paying alcoholics to clean the streets, but there is a twist. The payment? Beer.

Some alcoholics were causing a nuisance in one of Amsterdam's parks. Now, through a special program, the men are being kept busy cleaning streets. For a day's work, they receive 10 euros (around $13 U.S.), a half-packet of rolling tobacco and five cans of beer — two to start the day, two at lunch and one for after work.

Gerrie Holterman, who heads the Rainbow Foundation project, which is funded by the Dutch state and donations, says the aim of the project is to keep the men occupied and away from disruptive fighting and noise-making in the park.

One 45-year-old alcoholic, named Frank, says, "I think I can speak for the group and say that if they didn't give us beers then we wouldn't come. ... We need alcohol to function."

Holterman says: "Heroin addicts can go to shooting galleries, so why shouldn't we also give people beer?"

C'est parce qu'ils sen crissent du club école. Tout ce qu'ils doivent faire c'est s'assurer que les quelques prospects pas trop mauvais qui sont là soient bien encadrés et qu'ils progressent.

Les résultats de l'équipe en général, bof... on s'en calisse.

Comparativement à ce que c'était avant, c'est un grosse amélioration, surtout côté développement. Guy Boucher avait fait une bonne job, mais après son départ et avant son arrivée, c'était pas fort.

Lefebvre fait une maudite bonne job avec les jeunes, même si ça ne se reflète pas au classement. Il n'y a pas eu beaucoup de joueurs qui ont stagné, et les joueurs qui sont venus à Montréal ont pratiquement tous bien fait.

On ne peut pas donner tout le crédit à Lefebvre pour des gars comme Gallagher et Bournival, qui se développeraient bien dans n'importe quelle organisation, mais ils ont accédés assez rapidement à la LNH, plus rapidement que prévu certainement pour Gallagher.

D'accord avec toi. Ils donnent beaucoup de glace aux jeunes au lieu de signer 3-4 Vétérans de la ligue américaine. C'est certain que ça va transparaitre dans les résultats.
