Leafs were horrible last night and didn't deserve to win.

I don't normally jump in on the "Penguins get favorable officiating" thing but last night it was obvious that the refs were in Pittsburgh's favor.

First off Malkin's game tying goal should've been a penalty for goaltender interference. He pushed Bernier into the net with his stick, then on his second swipe pushed the puck into the net. But I can understand how a ref might not have seen that during the middle of a scrum, and you can't put that one on review. Fine.

My real beef stems from incidents such as the Crosby/Phaneuf coincidental minor. Phaneuf makes a clean hit(more of a bump off the puck really than a hit). Crosby tries to kick out Dion's leg in retaliation and misses. Then he gets his glove up in Phaneuf's face. Phaneuf does not retaliate. How is that not a Toronto powerplay? HOW? What is the penalty called on Phaneuf there? 2 minutes for not punching cry baby Crosby in the face?

They were not handed anything. Toronto had zero shots on goal in the third period and overtime. ZERO! The Leafs gave up in this game pure and simple. The Pens are decimated by injuries with Bennett, Scuderi, Martin, Glass, and Vokoun all out of the lineup. I assume you are whining about the goal by Malkin that tied the game. I don't see a problem with that goal. He kept playing and banging away because no whistle was blown. He did not interfere with the goalie, and banged in junk. If the Pens were going to be haded anything the Malkin no goal would have counted. Make excuses for your teams sad effort last night but call a spade a spade. The Leafs quit in this game after the second period.

I will admit that the call makes sense if you take the action from earlier in the shift into consideration.(behind the Leafs net especially) But at the time of the penalty, Phaneuf did nothing at all. So it's a bad time to call the coincidental. They should've called it earlier. It's frustrating when you get a penalty for a clean hit.

As for the Bernier thing - no. It is not okay to push a goalie into the net with your stick. If the refs had seen it, they would have called it. They just didn't see it because it was a scrum.

I have it taped if you need me to send it to you - also we just got beat 6-0 by the CBJ and there was no complaining about the ref's...hmmm I wonder why?

I read Rossi's article that you link to. I do not care if Letang wants to do all these things. He needs to do it better. Especially if he is going to be paid $7M+.

For example that Bozak giveaway. He easily could have passed it to Orpik, step past Bozak and take a return pass from Orpik and be gone. And not a little bit gone, but like leaving three Leafs behind him gone.

He needs to use his brain. I've laid off the little complaints such as his inability to hit the net. Maybe that is a just a thing we'll have to accept.
