So, hypothetically, would I have less chance of ODing on painkillers because I have a pump running my heart as well as an ICD regulating the beats? I've been curious for a while but don't think its the best thing to bring up with my doctors. Not that I would take a bunch of painkillers, just curious.

Well depends what kind you are taking. Opiates can depress the respiratory system, the pump runs your heart, but if you take too many opiates your pump won't make your lungs go if they shut down. Also the big thing with painkillers is the damage of the acetaminophen on the liver in most pain meds. It is not uncommon for people who abuse pain meds, to end up in the ER with liver damage. Over 4000mg (or appx. 12) 325mg tylenol per day is harmful on the liver. What does your doc prescribe you for analgesics?
