Yeah... not sure how true it is, but when I heard that, I'm like "WTF?!" How many times to they need to burn themselves before learning not to touch the hot stove... - WarriorHockey21
I think that's made up BS, if not for anything except that Snider wouldn't approve a deal like that because of the financial strain it would put on the team almost immediately after the humongous Bryz buyout. |

Kevin Weekes is a boob. They give him some stats to go over and he watches the highlites then reads the teleprompter. As soon as he opines it goes off the rails. |

I have a friend that is a Rangers Fan and he is PISSED. He wanted to trade Lundquist this season. Thinks Torts system was hiding Hank's decline and making the Rags defense look better then it is.... I think I have to agree with him. I'm glad he is locked up to hat god aweful contract for that long. |

You'd think as a former goaltender, he'd give Mason/Emery the credit they deserve, instead of making it seem as if this team plays competently in front of them. |

Weeks had to say that in order to generate interest in tonight's game. He is a line guy when it comes to his job on the NHL channel. He used to give decent opinions, and not add John Madden type commentary, but I guess the head office told him to spice it up with some more descriptive commentary. I am waiting for Pat Summerall to show up, and say, "That's right Kevin." |

As far as defense goes the team is pretty good. Our defensemen are good, they just arent good together. |

I'll give him this, he's the only talking head in Canada who doesn't think the Flyers need a goalie.
As soon as he gets worked up all stupidity is going to break loose. |

just the idea that they wanted to spend like 9M on Lundqvist with Mason here makes me angry
hoping that was all pure BS - Marc D
exactly, and me too. i know CMB is great and all, but what exactly has he won? mason has been the bobby clarke trophy winner since the minute he got here last year. he still has to prove himself as a legit, long term guy, and everything he's doing right now says he's worth the investment. |

9th in goals-against per... 6th in team SV%......... 19th in shots-against per... Mason (and Emery) save their collective bacon time and time again. If the goaltending experiences any kind of dip, this team is in real deep poop. |

When a guy comes down on a breakaway against Mason (and to a lesser extent, Razor), I no longer have that angsty "oh poop, here it comes" feeling.
I actually feel like Mason and Ray have a puncher's chance (no pun intended) at stopping the breakaway.
Watching Bryz in that video clip kinda triggered a little PTSD for me, as my seats are at the end the Flyers defend twice. - johndewar
i don't care who we have... even if it were roy or marty in their prime....i always get that "oh poop" feeling every single breakaway.
however, i feel like our chances are greatly improved with the tandem we've got at the moment. |

all they need is G, Jake, and Hartnell to chip in reasonably close to their expected level of contribution. should be simple right?
how many years left on Hartnell's contract?

You could argue that the defense only allows low percentage shots at a high volume, but I agree Mason has been stellar. I'm just saying the defense isn't that bad "per man" then people think. As a unit they are slow and cant move the puck for poop, but they aren't bad players, and actaully play a decent defensive game... until they cant get the puck out which will eventually lead to a slow defenseman getting out of position... |
