Kypreos just said on Hockey Central that the Flyers were waiting to sign Lundqvist at 9 million plus per if he reached free agency and the Rangers blinked and gave him 8.5 for the term he wanted. |

2 things....
First off... wow. 8.1 million for Lundquist for 8 years.... Crazy. Even my rangers fan friend is saying he is breaking down. Going to make Bryz's contract look like genious move in a few seasons.
Second, saw Ek post Philly and Edmonton talking again. I think the only reason they stopped was because the offense started to pick up a bit after the Edmonton-Philly game. Now that it looks like it was a aberation rather then the norm, I think they are talking Yakupov again.
I know this wont happen, but would you guys do Giroux, and Schenn Bros for Eberly, Yakupov and Edmonton 1? |

I'd rather mcginn than rosehill. They must really dislike mcginn bc he's done better than any other call up and gets sent back every time. |

All jokes aside, he really is a much better hockey player (and fighter) than Jody Shelley ever was here. I think that's more of an indictment of Shelley than praise for Rosehill, though.
BTW, this game's going to be on 24/7... can't wait for Rosehill, Downie, Rinaldo or Hartnell to do something stupid so they can cast the entire team in that familiar light. - Tomahawk
Personally, I want to see something uncharacteristic out of the top line tonight. I want to see them produce some points.

They didn't really hand Raffl a spot. They called him up out of necessity. - PhillySportsGuy
What's the difference? He's still here, right? |

Lundqvist got 7 years at 8.5 per. And Edmonton wouldn't touch the Giroux contract. |

Lol I bet they would have too. And then traded away all of our d men and used ahlers and stacked up the forward lines. |

Lecavalier is out. It's only his third different injury so far in a quarter of a season. Meanwhile old Man Jagr continues to be an Iron Man. - PLindbergh31
Jagr doesn't have the orange kryptonite sewn into his jersey anymore. |

I say we go to Gags, and tell him that we are sorry for the way he was treated. Then, we sign him for a 1 year contract to help G out. Drop Hartz from the 1st line, and put Raffl in the box up stairs.
Let Mr. Snider himself pull up in the limo to apologize. Don't forget the checkbook Mr. Snider or don't come back...lol. - OrangeAndBlack1
Gagne would get a concussion signing the contract. |

Thank God. Lundquist isn't what he used to be. We are now seeing how much Torts system made the Rangers defense and Lundquist look so much better.
If Homer did this I would wait along his bike path and stick a branch in his spoke.

I keep thinking... how many playoff rounds did this guy win? 8.5?

To play devil's advocate he is backstopping a team that seems to average 0.34 goals a game.
On the other hand watching them get eliminated by the devils that year with like 3 rangers sprawled in the crease was exhilarating as a king nothing hater. |

This is bad, at least he's getting help. |

It is baffling. He has 1 less goal than G in a lot less games with no powerplay time, so clearly he belongs in the AHL...probably because he's making the other guys feel bad about themselves, and nobody likes that. |

Great, that just means more money to throw at Phaneuf and Vanek. |

I'm waiting to hear Bradley's comments, I know he loves these type of contracts for the goalie. |

That sucks... I'm torn over whether fighting should be in the game or not... It is a cheap way to spark a team and boost ratings. |

I just hope albeit futile, that Lukko leaving means the free agent splurging slows down or at least becomes more frugal |

I always got the impression he was the frugal one of the Lukko/Snider combo. Not that anything frugal ever happened. |
