Benn will score a goal tommorow. Flyers are fantastic at getting players out of scoring droughts. - JoeRussomanno
The Flyers do seem to be pretty good slump busters. |

I don't think this is true. Flyers pens rivalry had been alive and building momentum for 6 years now. Devils were biggest before that, 90'd into 2000's. Rangers haven't been for awhile now. It's all about playoff meetings. To me what happened 20-30 years ago has minor relevance to what is being carried onto the ice today - Just5
I still hate the Rags and Devils more. If the Penguins lost Crosby and Malkin tomorrow, the rivalry would die down significantly, but I'll hate the Rangers and Devils no matter who's on the team. |

Have you ever met anyone from Pittsburgh?
Most of the folks I've met from Pittsburgh simply dislike Philadelphia, as a city. .
If you asked most people in Philadelphia what their opinion on Pittsburgh was, they probably don't have a real strong opinion. Or, they'll say something about the Steelers. But, people in Philly really don't give the Western part of the state much of a thought.

Plenty. I went to state college back when the pens sucked. There was no rivalry there. Most steeler fans told me they never cared either way about the eagles until they met the obnoxious eagles fans.
I'm a big eagles fan. I understand that until we ever win a freaking super bowl. Nobody will take the eagles seriously |

My in laws are all from Pittsburgh. My brother-in-law said he really doesn't care about the Eagles because he doesn't ever see them as a threat. |

Ironically, I probably think Steeler fans are far more obnoxious than Cowboy fans.
Steeler fans have this weird thing about "the right way" that comes off as incredibly self righteous and condescending.
Cowboy fans, at least, have the common decency to accept the fact they've routinely rooted for scum bags and have no pretense of giving a poop about "the right way". |

Pittsburgh is Pennsylvania's version of Buffalo.
No matter how many Carnegie Mellons or Aviary Museums they open, they'll still be the weaker, meth producing little brother with the funny accent in PA. - johndewar
Come on now. The Penguins are the current biggest rival for the Flyers. Maybe not all-time, but definately currently.
But Pittsburgh is still the estranged little cousin that you love to beat up every time you see him. Everyone in Pittsburg is a Red-head right? |

My all-time hated list is as follows
1.Devils
2.Rangers
3.Penguins
4.Bruins
5.Lightning
6.Sabres
Although Penguins have been #1 on that list the past few years just because they have been a bigger threat than the Devils and Rangers. |

Question for Bill,
It does seem like the Flyers and Dallas are perfect trade partners for swaping D. They are undersized and not Physical, we are tooo big and slow with no puck moving. Think Dallas would be interested in a Grossmann and 2nd for Daley or Goligoski deal? |

The Flyers defense has been good this season....
Trade Grossmann??? He has been a rock, one of the league leaders in blocked shots. Have you seen him play? |

The only time to worry about Letang is on the PP. I find him terribly overrated otherwise. |

I go with who I hate the most right now. And to be honest the Penguins are close to surpassing every other team on my all-time list too. I mean they are easily the most dispicable team in the NHL in a long time. For a team that has so much super-star talent, they also play some of the dirtiest hockey (Neal....Cooke...Asham) and whine and dive more than anyone. That is what really gets my goat about them. They have enough talent to win on talent alone, but they still cheap-shot and dive.
My List, all time.
Penguins
Rangers
Toronto
Caps
Devils... Thier fanbase if a joke. Hard to hate a team without any fans.

I love Grossmann. The defense has been fine defensively, but the offensive problems and those "break-downs" happen because the defense can't move the puck out of the zone.
The only reason I picked Grossmann is because Dallas knows what they are getting in him. He is cheap which increases his value. Coburn for Daley would be almost an even swap, and I dont want to trade low on Schenn for a mid-level puck-moving D-man. So the best choice for a deal to get what the Flyers want from Dallas would be Grossmann IMO. |

Serious write-up. Thanks, Bill.
Benn never gives up on a play -- you always see him make that second and third effort.
It's tough not to like that type of player. I haven't seen all that much of Benn, so it will be good to get to watch him tomorrow. The fact he's in a bit of a drought right now is a little scary.
If Benn has a flaw, it's that he sometimes tries to do a little too much when things aren't going well. He'll go into some goal-scoring droughts where he's pulling a lot of his shot attempts high and wide of the net.
That can't be right, I thought only Raffl missed the net high and wide? |

I think Timonen, Streit and Coburn is sufficient. Its more of a system issue to me. Timonen and Streit are 40-50 pt scorers on any other team right now. Flyers dont push the pace. They are really playing a NJ Devils brand of hockey right now. |
