You need a life. It's all just hockey after all. - Not_Yan
Nah I'm good. Julien needs to show some respect to the game. He's embarrassing himself with the more things he says on the subject. |

I am glad you have followed my hockey career so closely!
And you have seemed to ignore the majority of my post to say that I must have not played a shift of hockey because I don't think charging or punching someone's face who has nothing to do with the play is appropriate!
Cool story - MrBeanTown
I have no idea what you just said. |

Mr bean , keep in mind Bartley is only one Pen fan , of course Neal did it on purpose and with his history he should get more games than would be normal for a hit like that , on the other side Thornton let his emotions get the better of him but what he did was horrible the league should make an example of him , but I'm guessing neither one will get what they deserve because shanahan is too easy on everyone , that's my two cents. On another note I am excited to see what domulion can do , he's large enough to play with the big boys , can't wait to see him - Bradlee3
Don't worry I am not grouping all Pen's fans because of 1 person, just like I don't like to be lumped with the idiot Bruins fans who think what Thornton did was acceptable.
And fully agree shanahan has been making a mockery of that dept since he stepped in

He is not leaning, he is not extending his leg; normal skating motion. Not suspendable. I personally love it. |

I think Shanahan has done an ok job. Its the teams that continue to defend their players that a larger part of the problem. |

If you look at the replay, he clearly tries to avoid contact. Marchand actually sticks out his head to make contact with Neal's knee in an attempt to cause damage to the knee ligaments. |

Astute observation. The NHL needs to crack down on these shameless and career threatening knee shots. Knee injuries are a very serious issue. |

Some of his decisions are a little mystifying, but I don't think he's been as bad as most people think. I don't care what anybody says, he doesn't have autonomy when dealing with these cases. He has a boss.
The other aspect to this is he's working in the confines of the CBA. It's the players that negotiate towards less punishment. That's a fact. Neal is no longer considered a repeat offender under the guidelines negotiated by the player union.
Malkin back tonight! Looking forward to seeing Dumoulin. |

GMs and owners made no mistake after he took the job and started handing out suspensions. They wanted him to pull back. He handed out a stiff penalty to Wisniewski and then went light ever since. |

F'reals though, knee injuries suck. I'm still nursing a surgically repaired patella (knee cap). The one thing I'm very glad about is that I didn't hit my head, too. Hell of a bright side, I know. |

I guess what gets me is that there is NO reason to skate that close to a down player on the ice when the play is nowhere near you. He's not being hemmed in. To me it's pretty clear he did it intentionally. |

I've had both knee injuries and concussions. The nice thing about a knee injury is at least I could watch TV. The poopty thing is that I blew out my knee when I was 15, and I am 31 now and it still hurts worse than the first time I was dumped. Especially if it gets cold out and I live north of Edmonton where it is always (frank)ing cold out.

He should be held accountable for incidents like the other night.
Julien on Pacioretty's hit on Boychuk
“I think it was deserving of a two-minute penalty,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said. “When I looked at it, it was. I’m being honest here. I don’t think it was more than that. I think it was the way he went into the boards that did most of the damage. I don’t think it was from the severity of the hit. We have to be honest if we’re going to clean up this game. To turn around and say that it should have been a game, suspension, I don’t think so.”
Then yesterday...
“The one thing about (Thornton) is that anybody who knows him personally knows he's a pretty honest player and pretty honest person, and if he said he really regretted and felt bad, he really did,” Julien told the media. “I support his comment because I know he’s being truthful to that.
“That’s more than we can say about players that pretend it wasn’t done on purpose. It’s pretty obvious when you look at it that (Thornton) did cross the line, but others did too. But sometimes you have to man up to those things and I think he did.”
I dont give a crap how honest the guy is. Its a joke that he even tries to defend that the day after. Especially after seeing Orpik wheeled off the ice. He's a major part of the problem. He put Thornton on the ice during Orpik's shift for 1 reason. |

Where does he defend it? I don't see defending, he said Thornton was wrong and will deserve the punishment he gets, how is that defending?
All he defends is that Thornton feels badly about doing it... What should a coach say? Nahhh F him he's not sorry he's a giant D-Bag? Nope i thought he played it the way it should be played to be honest. |
