Ha! Nothing makes me feel older, faster, than knowing that Sami Kapanen's and Michael Nylander's kids are about to get drafted. - AllInForFlyers
Goalies I'd keep my eye on for the draft are
Alex Nedeljkovic & Thatcher Demko, maybe even Mason McDonald
I want to see Kaapo Kähkönen
I might take a chance on an unknown in Liam Herbst a London Knights prospect currently playing in the OJHL after missing all last season with a knee injury. He should make the team next year. But only use a later pick like 6th or 7th. |

All the ups and downs this season are starting to make me seasick.
And it's not even mid-December yet.
Still dying to know how Roussel got Rinaldo to completely lose his mind like that. |

They did look like small punches, but you never know how they connected. I think Thornton gets 5 or 6 games.. Neal prob 2 or 3.
I have no idea what Rino will get but this is the type of crap that should get him scratched for a few after he does return from suspension. Doesn't sound like Chief is happy at all. - Hextall271
I think he gets 10 appeals and it's down to 7 or 8 |

Absolutely -- I'm a "draft at least one goalie every year" guy.

Just some names, it's certainty not last year & won't have the hype as 2015 will have but it's not bad. |

I'm hoping Neal gets 7 or so -- he's a repeat offender -- and while Shawn Thornton has never been suspended...this one isn't playing well, on the television clips. You wonder if he's going to be made an example of.

This team is mediocre. It's pretty bad considering the contracts they've felt the need to dole out to ice this team - Just5
They're not contenders for sure, but I think the team has improved a lot since chief took over. The issue now is consistency. They are in a win one lose one mode right now which means they are not making up any ground. They're in a sad div, so I hold out hope that they can make the playoffs, and get the young players more experience. I've said it before, but the real issue now is acquiring someone to help out the D. Looks like we have a solid tender, and forward corps (I'd re sign Downie if he continues to play well on that line). We prob need two top 4 guys before the beginning of next season and they don't grow on trees. I am not sure how we accomplish that as UFA doesn't seem like an option. |

The way I understand it, Neal has an over the phone hearing and Thornton an in person. Normally in person means 5 plus and over the phone 4 or less (As I remember it.) |

That's good -- we need one more solid draft to hopefully pull a scoring forward into the system. I think the Flyers have continued to draft well, and I really like what we've done the last few, with the obvious quibbles with Ghoulborne in the third.
But at the same time...Laughton, Ghost, Morin, Stolarz...the Flyers have drafted guys who have a chance to do some good things, if they develop. That's all you can ask.

I think we could use 2 or 3 more decent or solid drafts, you don't want the waive of talent to stop coming & to have that you need to not only draft well but let them develop. |

Yeah, I'd add to that Alt and Cousins. Soulds like they have potential to make it. Also, Stolarz really seems like a keeper and I think I heard he's going to the WJC with team USA. All good stuff.. Add a stud #1 dman and another top 4 guy and we're perennial contenders LOL |

Man...it's been so long since we've kept all our prospects...it's almost hard to remember what that feels like.
We've used our first-rounders ever since 2011, right? And even used second-rounders the past three years, as well, though not necessarily ours? And are more likely to use the first-rounder this year, as well...
I'd have to go back and look, but us using four straight first and second-round picks...I can't believe that would've happened within the last 25 years, at least.

Wasn't he just out w/ a groin strain? If so, I believe the back/groin areas are all interdependent for hockey players. |

Yeah...I won't lie, I'd rather them package the Schenns for a mobile defenseman than do something like package Laughton and a pick.
I really do think they've been drafting well...if they can somehow just be patient with these picks and let Homer keep drafting...
It's a dream, but man, on the days when this team is playing well and Sean Couturier's in Beast Mode...damn. You can see what this team could be. |

McGinn to play top six forward until VL is back, Raffl to the 4th line.
I've been a big Raffl supporter but thought he struggled yesterday.
He'd be fine on the 4th line as he is not going to hurt the team defensively and is useful on the PK. With VL out they need to think about someone who can score a few goals to play with Schenn and Simmonds.
If not McGinn then Akeson I guess although there are problems with that scenario.

It was a nasty game; watch the highlights if you can. At least the B's won. |

That hurts , after losing Boychuk the night before.
Those guys are valuable players to Boston.
Neal is going to get two games and they are going to throw the book at Thornton.
One guy is a star and the other a 4th liner.
I hate the way the league doles out its justice.
I'm not equating what they each did, both were awful. |
