So you're comparing him based on ray whitneys 12th best scoring season of his career (in which he also missed 19 games that season)?
This is really reaching now, they aren't even in the same arena - FourFeathers773
Had 6 better season that 55 point effort. Listen Zuccs is a good player and he's playing very well right now. You have not a clue what your are talking about. It would be like me suggesting that Hjalmarsson is expandable to the hawks for them to acquire Ryan Miller now that Crawford and Nabby are hurt. |

Small forward, moderate at best production, feisty but not physically imposing
I would compare zuccarello to a nathan gerbe, tyler ennis, or cam atkinson - FourFeathers773
Not that those guys are unfair comparisons but can you find players that have a longer track record? All three of the players you mentioned are in the early stages of their pro career. To be fair we should identify players that have been around for a while to get an idea for what might be expected of Zucc. |

I all accept Tyler Ennis. But Gerbe is .39 ppg for his career. Zuccs in .57. Not really close. |

listen, i know you want to just say "i dont know what im talking about" because i made some egregious suggestion that Zuccarello shouldnt be in the top 6 on a contending team, but be a little bit more objective than comparing him to someone with over 1,000 pts in his career

He had 6 better seasons after that 55 point effort. I just said that? Do you not read the whole quote. But I think Zuccarello can be closer to Ray whitney than Nathan Gerbie. Zuccs is already much better than Gerbie. |

Zuccs career isn't over, it's very early on. You asked for a player that was in the top 6 of a cup team that compared to Zuccs. I gave you Ray Whitney in 06. Now we are going to compare a 40 year old whitney to a 26 year old Zuccs. Right. Ok. Move along now. |

Marty St. Louis? - Mtlca66
Wee little 5'8 in the morning, 5'6 at night, 180 pounds soaking wet St. Louis.
Thats 95 points in his first 200 games before he really hit his mark. Now Im not saying Zucc's is going to be the next St. Louis, but he does play very hard out there and shows glimpses of some top level skill. |

its tricky in terms of those kind of player, because for the most part, these smaller guys dont last in the NHL
compared to pace of production, although it would be a careers worth vs zuccarrellos limited sample size, and he had much bigger upside earlier in his career than zuccarello does now, but the best experienced comparison I can make right now is Brian Gionta who has kind of regressed into the 40ish pt production range |

I know that will be the sentiment of a lot of people, but realistically, unless they are obviously out of range of the top 3 spots in the Metro division at trade deadline time, that's not going to happen.
Maybe the Staal injury will be enough to send this team off a cliff, but I think they'll be sufficiently mediocre when they'll look at add for the usual 1-2 round playoff run and not completely blow it up - jimbro83
Teams have turned things around w/o major roster shake ups;
It can be done. Caps did it last year. Ducks kind of sucked for a while
And look at them now with pretty much the same group.
Rags need to adjust their attitude. Yes something needs to shift
But most of the parts are there -we've seen them play really well with
These players. |

Even if they did change their attitude, they still cant hang with the likes of Boston. Its a painful honest truth. |

Though I pretty much agree, they did dominate
Boston recently. Strange things can happen over the
Course of a season with teams coming together
Or falling apart. If a lot of rags started to fire on all cylinders
They could be a formidable team. |

Would they be able to string some wins together sure. Their next 3 games should be wins. They should have beat NJ and Caps. They lack the veterans to pick up the kids. Richards isnt much of a leader and Nash seems like he wants to do it on the ice but not in the lockerroom.
Theyre weak in the heart. They get rattled way too easily. |

But in all seriousness Miller was sent down, possibly to clear room for him? Someone on the Isles board posted that. |

From a legit source or no? Miller was sent down and Asham came back up. So it really doesn't make that much sense for the Rangers. Besides the Rangers already more than enough dead wieght, they don't need more. |

The only way I see us claiming him is if there's a trade in the works for brassard but I don't think so |
