The problem with Rinaldo, and to a lesser extent, Rosehill, is that they don't get held to the same standard of accountability others do.
Rinaldo has drawn just one penalty this season, he's committed several really dumb ones and they give him more responsibility, by adding him to the PK. Meanwhile, Meszaros takes a dumb penalty late in a game and he gets benched for three weeks. - Jsaquella
Might have something to do with lack of forward options vs abundance of Defensive options. Can move Mez, Gus, and Gill around without effecting the cap too. If you replace Rinaldo and Rosehill you have to call someone up and pay the cap hit. |

Forget driving Couts to the Airport. I would drive his ass the whole way to Edmonton, with the windows down! - youarewrong
Yakupov, a lottery pick AND Klefbom/Marincin/Nurse? Uh yeah, I'll be helping you drive. |

I'm sure Roussell was talking poop before the game and told him he would fight Zac the second they were on the ice together, but that was such a dumb move. - PhillySportsGuy
Roussel = Steve Ott Jr
Fabulous job of agitating, turtling, and getting his team on the PP.

For the life of me I don't understand dressing 2 guys in Rosehill and Rinaldo who literally have zero chance of scoring. The Flyers can't score goals. Having these guys in the lineup every game is idiotic. - PLindbergh31
Question is, who are they going to call up to replace them? The Phantoms are just as offensively inept as the Flyers, and there's a real dearth of NHL-ready talent down there.

Couts would really have to win the Selke then or a GM gets canned.
If EDM knew Yak was going KHL no matter what, then I could see it. |

They have the cap room and the options. Raffl sat for two weeks behind Rosehill and Rinaldo. They have Ben Holmstrom, who could come in and be a solid fourth liner, wasting away in Glens Falls.
It's stunning to me that both Rosehill and Rinaldo have hurt the team with badly timed penalties and poor play, but seem immune to being benched. |

McGinn and Akeson/Holmstrom. Granted they aren't prospects, but at least they can skate a regular shift. They also won't leave the team shorthanded as often as the R & R gong show. |

I have a feeling that the deal would include more then just Couts though. I bet it would be either:
Couts+L.Schenn
Couts+Simmonds
Couts+Coburn
And we would get Yakupov, the pick, and a defensive prospect. I know Edmonton has expressed interest in both Simmonds and Coburn in the past. L.Schenn is my throw in as he is in Berube's dog house and young with the chance to grow withe Edmonton's team. Edmonton was offereing 3 2nd rounds for Coburn at the draft... and I know they have really heald Simmonds in great esteem. It will be interesting to see. |

They have a slew of guys that can handle a 4th line role. Newbury, Holmstrom & McGinn can all likely provide the level of play the chuckleheads brothers have and also avoid the dumb penalties. |

Good move.
Hopefully Raffl stays on as a 4th line and PK guy too. - Marc D
I agree.
I'm not trying to bury Raffl.
I just don't think he's ready for a full time top 6 role right now. |

One of the reason Rinaldo has to be frustrated is he is not drawing penalties like he did last year.
I've seen the refs let other players hit Rinaldo away from the puck, blatant interference, and nothing called this season. I really think its because it is who he is, and think it sucks. |

I agree with you on that one. Raffl needs more seasoning in the North American game. |

More immune to being benched then who? Raffl? A first year player that doesn't have a goal and while he looks pretty sometime, also takes risks that someone in his position shouldn't. I haven't been impressed with what I saw from Holmstom either. Rinaldo and Rosehill are 4th line players with NHL experience. Would it be nice to have better options, sure. But Holmstrom isn't much of an improvement. |

The stupidity of the management is now competing with the stupidity of the coaching staff.
Good times boys, good times.
A player like Luke Schenn, who yes has struggled, gets benched on his ass along with someone like Guss. Yet the morons who continue to take stupid penalty, after stupid penalty get to play.
Where is the accountability for Rinaldo, Rosehill and Hartnell?
Didn't Berube talk about this team taking too many penalties for far too long when he got promoted?
Just wait until he gets that nice 2 year extension. |

I think Holmstrom could fit the 4th liner role.. as of the moment. Good two way player with some grit. At least he would give the 4th line some scoring ability |

A line of Akeson-Hall-McGinn could instantly become the 2nd best scoring line on the team.
Weird how true that statement could be. |

Understood. But sometimes you have to try and fit a square peg in a round hole. Raffl can shift to the 4th line. |

Flyers wouldnt have any energy line. And I'm sorry, if you think a like of Holmstom, Hall, and Newberry is going to be any better, your wrong. Sure they might play a bit of a tighter defensive game, but they arent going to bring anything else that Rosehill and Rinaldo bring, plus they will still be prone to rookie mistakes and adjusting to NHL play.

Yes sir Peanut. It seems as if there is a double standard. Players you mention struggle and they are benched, or see their ice time cut, yet mongoloids like Rinaldo and Rosehill are allowed to run amuck. It's dumb. I wonder if it has anything to do with Berube being sympathetic to the goon role.

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't put all the blame on Berube for playing the knuckleheads considering that Homer has given him nothing but a poop buffet to choose from. |
