It's less about the players and the Flyers fans then the way it's used in the media and by opposing fans.
You don't lay that out there and not expect it to follow a player around. He put Giroux in the unenviable position of having to live up to it or have it mock him for his career. - mayorofangrytown

can someone explain why clarke mcarthur scores against the flyers every (frank)ing game he plays against them? i can't believe he didn't break his 0 for 11 in SO's. absolutely shocked. still...they lost a game they led, twice, and couldn't hold onto a 3rd period lead. again.
streit. jeezus.
just have to accept this a .500 club at best. the d needs an overhaul and our top line guys still need to be better.

I mentioned it last night, but Butsy said that the mix is just bad. There's individual talent on the roster, but it just doesn't fit well together.
It has the talent, overall, to be better, but it's a bad mix of pieces.

I don't think Schenn will ever have the defensive capabilities of those guys. I see him more as a PF with good hands. - PhillySportsGuy
He was a good defensive player in junior... just because he hasn't shown that yet in the NHL doesn't mean it's not there, or he'll never improve. In fact, some of the better defensive forwards in history started out as essentially one-way players.
Not everybody pops out of the womb with a Selke Trophy like Couturier.
Ask Rinaldo, he played 4 seconds on Saturday and got 27 PIM and gave the Stars a 7 minute PP. Berube played him 10:31 last night. - Jsaquella
Yeah, I was thinking that as well last night, until Striet continued to cough pucks up over & over, it's not just a bad game, or a bad stretch, he's been awful!
It makes no sense dealing with his errors every night, while Gus sits, no one, the coach, the GM, no one is making him accountable.
Rinaldo pulled a Carcillo, I get that, but Streit has been a complete liability, even Luke, who all in the sudden is specializing in tipping home goals for the opposition, one handed tips I might add, redeems his play with some steadiness, but Streit can't hit the net, he can't make the first pass, & he coughs up diamonds at the offensive blue line.
