Trade Hartnell for picks and prospects. Trade the brothers Schenn and Voracek (or picks/prospects instead of him if you can get away with it) for the #1 Dman we need. Get a speedy bottom 3 dman for picks (maybe Diaz from Montreal). Splurge big on UFAs (if they make it there) like Phaneuf and Gaborik. Get rid of Streits contract, if you can.

I think it's safe to say this is an at best average team.

You have to look at it realistically.

This is a team currently on the outside looking in, a .500 team at best right now who is playing one of the top teams in the league at home. The Flyers match up extremely poorly with them and it eventually showed.

The only plus that I can take from this is that Cooter is getting a ton of ice time lately and is showing tremendous strides in his overall game.

wells that easy Mason only untouchable and do an actual rebuild instead of stupid tweaking that doesn't address the problem...this team has hasn't been able to replace what pronger brought to the team and the unwillingness to part with players has cost them and the team is showing it

I feel bad for rayzor....not his fault. Again.

Just crossed over into the realm of really embarrassing...

Only thing that can make this worse is mason getting hurt in mop up.

I expected them to lose ... and maybe even lose by 3 or 4 goals. But after a pretty decent first 20 minutes I foolishly got my hopes up that they might actually win.

Evidently they were just setting us up for more heartache.

Its okay. It happens to the best of us. If we just accept the fact that they are a mediocre team that will probably miss the playoffs and will then end up with the 13th overall pick or something just outside the top ten we can all be a lot happier. Lets just take our expectations and bring them a whole lot lower.

Stuck with Hartnell. We just have to accept that. It's time to overpay for a young controllable top line DMan. G and V need to be in a run and gun type situation to be effective.

Hartnell doesn't have to go anywhere he doesn't want to go and good luck finding anyone to pick up the remaining 5 years on his contract. Streit's contract and age are almost as good as a no trade clause. These guys will retire flyers several years from now and there' s nothing that can be done about it.
