I look at it this way... During the anthem of either country all fans should show respect. It's really not asking much. If fans wanna show national pride and chant U-S-A or CAN-A-DA... It don't bother me at all. It's a sporting event you're supposed to ha e fun and enjoy it whether or not your team is getting their ass handed to them. Hell it was over 20 years before I attended a game the flyers actually won... Anyway if all your doing is chanting for your country, you're really not bothering anyone, after all it's not profanity. I mean some people wanna yell shoot when there isn't a snowflake's chance in hell to score and you're never gonna stop them from doing it but its how they enjoy the game I guess and everyone has a right to be happy as long as it doesn't infringe I. Someone else's rights or liberty, IMO . - JoeRussomanno

MLB to ban home plate collisions before 2015. Players must slide or stop now.
What's next? No more handshaking in the playoffs because of germs? |

What made Hartnell effective was he was able to agitate, get goalies off thier games. Get other players to take dumb penalties with him, and was able to hit like a freight train.
I haven't seen any of this since he came back from his injury last season. All his on ice "fire" is gone. And that is what made him effective IMO. Knocking into the goalie. Chirping after the plays... Just being the most hated person on the team... and now... not so much. - youarewrong
??????????????????????????????????
What made Hartnell effective and mostly productive was Giroux and Jags setting him up with great passes and him putting the puck in the net. Yes getting the opponent to take dumb penalties and being an agitator did bring something to the team but I'll take 37 goals in a season (2011-2012) over his shenanigans any day. |

The Flyers are an American-based team which is composed of 95% non-Americans. Not quite an "American team." The Canadiens are a Canadian-based team composed of 80% non-Americans. Much more of an "American team."
It's not like "Look at our American players being better than your Canadian players!" because that's more true of the Canadiens roster.

Hartnell is a more effective player when he's mixing it up out there. When he plays like he is Stamkos you get the Hartnell of the last year and a half. |

Hartnell was part of good lines before that one.
Hartnell - Carter - Lupul was a pretty good line in 2008.
The Hartnell - Briere - Leino line made Ville Leino a very wealthy man. |

Again, I'm not getting your connection. Somehow thinking it's a bit absurd to cheer for players who have no homegrown connection to a country you're cheering for is related to slavery and interfering in the economics and politics of an entire region? |

Just saying there was something off in his game. When he is hat his best, is when he is doing shenanigans. Those 37 goals was an aboration, not a norm. You should not expect him to do that ever again. But you should expect him to still be a pest to other teams, while potting a few opperturn goals from rebounds. He needs to stop trying to play the same finesse game Giroux does. |

There's plenty to be thankful for and proud of in being an American. There's also plenty to be ashamed of as well. |

Flyer fans watch FLYER games. They cheer for the FLYERS. Flyers are located in the birthplace of freedom, Philadelphia.
I'm not sure I can make this clearer. |

I will never again question anything relating a bunch of Canadian players and cheering for the United States of America. I will also lay hate onto several United States players who happen to be playing for a Canadian based team. My sincerest apologies. |

And I will cheer for the Philadelphia Flyers, and I will cheer on the Philadelphia team. If they were the USA Flyers, I would cheer for the USA team. Does that mean if I go to a Flyers/Penguins game I should also cheer for the USA because the Flyers are from philadelphia? If I go to a Capitals vs. Boston game, which team should cheer for their US representatives? The Capitals are home to the US capitol, but Boston played a largee role in our independence. |

True, was making a comparison to his last productive season 2011-2012 vs now.
If Hartnell becomes a pest, agitator, etc I don't think he's going to start potting goals everywhere that's my point. |

Down with America. Down with Capitalism. Boo baby killers. Fur is murder. Release those poor terrorists in Guantanamo.
Our culture is changing. This is a planned corruption starting with the entertainment and news industries and our educational systems. Its being pumped into the heads of our kids, and being pushed down our throats by the news and governement that is supposted to stand for Freedom and Justice and the American way. |
