What can you say?

The Flyers played a near perfect game for 51 minutes. Then the roof caved in.

Steve Mason, easily the team's MVP, had a bad go today. The last two goals seemed stoppable, even if deflected. He mishandled the puck on two of the goals and has now allowed 4 goals in 3 of his last 4 starts. The blame today is not his alone.

The Flyers didn't just sit on their third period lead, they laid on it. It wasted a great afternoon by the Raffl-Giroux-Voracek line and an overall good day by the rest of the team.

They should be a pissed off team come Tuesday, and I roll Mason again. Let him get the taste of this mess out of his system and bounce back from the first rough stretch of games he's had as a Flyer.

That said, today was an absolute gut punch of a loss. The lack of discipline was very evident, as was the previously displayed lack of a killer instinct. This is at least the second time the Flyers led a game with less than 1 minute left in the third and came out with only one point. That is unacceptable.
