I guess I just have a hard time seeing a team being desperate enough to move a top defender. They're an invaluable treasure in the NHL right now, it seems. But then, I guess anything is only impossible until it happens.

Don't think any team would move a sub-30 #1 willingly/knowingly... McDonagh was coming off a pretty disappointing couple of years in Wisconsin when they made that deal... he literally didn't blossom until he was already in the bigs.

Flyers have to be on the lookout for that kind of scenario... only way to get a #1 not via the draft w/o gutting the team in other areas.
