Skippy's still recovering from his first time but he managed to get married and bake a kid. You'll be okay.

We all want the same things. A good job, a happy family and friends, a safe and healthy life, someone to argue with who will still hug you in the end and a Cup parade down Broad Street!

Falling in love, getting married and having a baby will go a long way toward filling in that scar but there will always be just a little emptiness until he sees me again.

I think he's currently negotiating a contract with the Cowboys.
At least the Flyers' meltdown wasn't the worst of the day. |

Go away Ed. Your hockey moves aren't really the stuff of dreams. Think about Bryz and just step away from the hockey decisions. - bodiva88
The Al Davis of hockey. He probably keeps wondering why Berube won't give that young Gill fellow a chance! |

So Ed Snider made a few comments to Panaccio...
http://www.csnphilly.com/...s/are-flyers-verge-change - Jsaquella
Ugh. I hate Tim's articles. He starts by discussing the 'leaky' goaltending as if that's the problem. Then proceeds to say the Flyers are going to make changes, perhaps a trade. Just quote Snider and stop inserting your own thinking.
He will go his whole life thinking athletes are jerks and not realize why players dislike him. |

I think Pronger's one true regret is that he never knocked Panaccio out. I would have bought a ticket to see that! |

All owners will meddle to varying degrees... a good GM knows how to diplomatically keep an owner out of his own way... Homer is too much of a company man (as is Berube) to stand up to Snider... the only push-back that Snider seems to ever have gotten over the past few years has been from Lavi resisting the call to go full-on Rangers/Devils in their style of play.
I suspect that Hexie, despite his virtues, is also a company man at heart, or will at least act like one until his profile rises. - Tomahawk
You are probably right. Snider has had a great career, it's really annoying that he still has to be hands on at 80+ years of age. Doesn't this guy want to enjoy his golden years? You would think counting his money could keep him busy. |

Doesn't really matter, for as long as Pronger's been doing media interviews here he's had Pistachio's balls in a clamp |

If I had an expectation for Hextall, it would be to take scouting and building up the farm more seriously.
It's probably better now, then when Clarke was the GM, but it's not near what it needs to be. - johndewar
I think part of the reason why the Flyers pipeline is somewhat barren isn't due to making mistakes in the draft, it's due to trading so many picks away for quick fixes. All that does is set a franchise back years.

He's enjoying it, but I think he sincerely wants another Stanley Cup as well. The irony, of course, is that his tampering and the team's all in approach (which, to be fair, I don't think has always harmed the franchise) have kept the organization from growing from the ground up. With patience, he could've been closer to a Stanley Cup by now.
Of course, that's could've, not would've. No certainties either way. |

Holmgren's first draft as full on GM was 2007. He's made picks in round two 3 times in those years.
Kevin Marshall, Anthony Stolarz & Robert Hagg. In two years, the Flyers didn't make a single selection before round 3.
The trades for Pronger and for the guys that Holmgren's tried to plug in to replace him have really left them without many picks that one can expect a lot out of, and it left the system pretty barren |

Kubina was totally worth 3 draft picks.
This is why I'm sort of hoping they go south this year. Someone will pay out the butt for Kimmo. |

I think he gave Clarke a lot more leeway than he gives Holmgren. The only time we really heard from Snider in all the years Clarkie was GM was when they fired Barber and hired Hithcock. |

Well, I think before the salary cap era there was more room to play fast and loose. Now, too many gambles/mistakes/whatever-you-want-to-call thems can really put a team behind the eight ball. But I'm not speaking from experience here, you'd know more about the Clarke era than I without a doubt.
I don't know if he's been more involved now for sure, but the once instance it seems fairly obvious (Bryz), it really blew up in his face. We're just lucky we got a get out of jail free card on that one. |

Absolutely. But generally the only time you'd hear from Snider was when Clarke said something dumb and Ed had to play PR rep. |

Yes. The irony is he wants desperately to win another Cup, but he fails to realize his job at his advanced age is just to sign the checks. Leave the personnel decisions to his hockey guys. |

Yup. I'm keeping an open mind to Morin. Hopefully he isn't rushed. It's tough to have a season like last and wait 3-4 years for a guy to contribute. I guess I'm glad they picked 11th in hindsight, if they would have picked Morin at 7 or 8 with guys like Nichushkin and Risto available I would have flipped my (frank)ing lid. |

Hmmm.... You would think so, but Timonen isn't playing well. I don't think the Flyers can get a first round pick for him. Maybe a contender that is crippled by injuries might consider it, but I don't see it. |

If we're hovering on the bubble near the trade line there is zero chance the flyers are keeping all of morin, ghost, Laughton, stolarz, or a 1st or 2nd rounder. One or more will be gone for Brian Campbell book it |
