Hartnell is a great....... author. - PLindbergh31
Ok, let's not go that far. |

That'll happen after you play against Boston. - JAKEw1234
Hawks played a 6 game series with the Bruins in the Finals last year and went through them like poop through a tin horn. |

true... although I personally think Parise is markedly better than Carter. - JAKEw1234
The numbers don't bear that out, though. Parise is better, but it's incrementally, rather than a huge difference. |

If I could get Kulikov for Simmonds, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I like Simmonds, but he's a streaky second liner, who really excels on the PP. Kulikov could be a good number two defenseman - Jsaquella

I don't think Hartnell is as untradeable as most do. that's just me, though. - BulliesPhan87
It really depends on the deal. It has to be a desireable city, and a team that can handle the salary and cap hit.
He's also gonna have to play markedly better hockey than he has over the past season or so. |

There are a few factors, but I could see a team taking him. I don't think the cap hit will be a huge factor, considering how high the cap's going. |

Pretty much outlined the exact reasons why he is the odd man out in my eyes. It would be Hartnell if not for the NMC. - hereticpride
Simmonds has all the signs of a guy they'd sorely regret trading down the road... he's everything you'd ever want in a power forward -- like a modern day Clark Gillies. |

You kidding.... Centuries from now Hartnell will be viewed as another Aesop.

He is from out West no?
I could see Edmonton being interested in adding some veteran influence, and grit. Calgary as well not that the Burke factor is more evident. Vancouver is on a hot streak right now, but I could see some interest there.
You just have to hope they haven't actually seen the guy play much in the last 2 years. |

Toronto... I hear they love PF's on ridiculous contracts... and Hartsy could be reunited with his BFF Loops. |

Even if they have, he's always been something inconsistent. I can see a team taking a chance on him as an alternative to more expensive trade routes, hoping he finds chemistry with the right line mates as he has a few times here. |

Yes. No idea if he'd want to waive his NMC to go to Edmonton or even Calgary, though. He likes the city nightlife in Philly.
If a team would take the contract, I wouldn't even want much return. When he was going bad in the seasons before last season, he was still working hard and being a pest. Since he signed the new deal, that element hasn't been around enough |

There better not be a trade.
What are they going to do? Shake up the locker room again?
Yes, this team is mediocre, but let's not forget that when they traded Carter and Richards they took a step back to take two steps forward in the long run. The 2012 campaign was an aberration. This team is young with a slow ass defense, they just need to develop and that takes time. |

They need to fix the mix. They really need some speed & puck skill on defense, and could use a winger who is more of a shooter to alter the mix up front. |

- Jsaquella
I'd have to question if being featured by a prestigious chocolate milk company isn't better than winning the cup. |

Pssh, Crosby punches Kadri's head against the boards, and what do the commentators say? "A little bit of a fake there, a little acting job by Kadri" |

Not when you just start hating on people because they're a Democrat or a Republican. We really need to stop these lunatics on TV and radio from driving political elections.
As a member of the media in a small way today, when I got into it I thought the media was supposed to keep both sides honest not take sides and dominate the election of officials.
Why is it we can see the agendas of people covering our favourite sport but so blindly buy into the rhetoric of these talking heads blaring at us every day and leading the nation like sheep into a hardline right and left?
Maybe because we watch our sport and have educated opinions so when someone in the media bends the truth or lies to us we can recognize it and even if we like them we can call them on it.
If I was in charge I'd bar the left and the right from the media unless they were able to balance their opinions. I certainly wouldn't put them on the radio and tv everyday for 2 to 4 hours and let them make themselves more influential than our elected representatives. - mayorofangrytown
Amen brother.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made a trade and then went after Phaneuf or Girardi in FA. They'll need to replace at least two defensemen this summer, and I could see them attacking it with their usual restraint. - Jsaquella
something tells me dion doesn't get to FA... either reups w/ toronto or is traded at the deadline and reups with that team. gut feeling. |
