The fact that he's also been one of their best players when healthy might also cause them to decide to keep him.
- Jsaquella

Or it might factor in to him being a quality trade chip at position the organization is young and deep and know how to draft well in.

I believe Detroit was in the running for him over the summer? If I'm Holmer I get on the phone and inquire about Brendan Smith or one of their other young dmen

He signed with us because we were the highest bidder. They wanted him for less. They aren't going to give up assets and pay him more.

They need to make Lecavalier available at the deadline. If he comes back and stays healthy he can be a vital chip at the deadline if the Flyers choose so.
- Just5

Seriously? Why? Lecav has been fine, actually better than fine. It's no time to panic. I'd trade Hartnell and $$ for whatever I could get before I'd trade Lecav.

Good point. Maybe they get desperate due to injury?

When healthy, I would like to see a top six that looks something like this...

Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds
Hartnell-LeCavalier-Voracek

As for why we lose third period leads. I think it's over thinking and trying too much that leads to mistakes. Our defense is trying to block everything that lead to what seems like one deflection past our tender a game. I really like how Steve Mason handles the puck but he has to choose when to play the puck more wisely and simply trust the D. There is no need to play every puck that roles behind the net. if you ever watch Brodeur play, that's one area that makes him one of the best ever. Late in a game like last night's game, you might want to allow the D to play the puck and not lose any kind of positioning in the crease.

If we trade Coburn - our best d-man who also happens to be locked up for this season + 2 more at a very reasonable cap hit - it had better be for an incredible, mind-blowing, highway robbery return.

Coburn is 39th among all d-men in the NHL in time on ice per game with a -1 rating. Kimmo is 75th. Streit is 96th, Grossmann is 109, then Gus and LSchenn further down the line.

If you want to see an already problematic d get worse, trade Coburn.

if coburn is our best dman THAT'S PART OF THE PROBLEM
he can't carry a team or be an effective top pair player he needs to go

Coburn has been a very good top pair defenseman this season. He's been one of only a couple bright spots of this season. With this said, he doesn't have to carry this team to be effective. He isn't Pronger, Lidstrom or Chara nor does he have to be. It doesn't make much sense to trade him when this team very much needs him.

Nobody is in the playoffs, it's still the regular season and we haven't even reached the half way mark yet. Coburn has been very good. Next to Streit, Coburn looks like a two time Norris winner.

You're delusional if you think it's impossible for the Flyers to finish third in the Metro.
