Perhaps one of the young centers is of interest to the Blues? There's a definite need on the Flyers' side of things, but they're unlikely to get the defenseman they need from the Blues.

Exactly the issue. The Flyers could use Shattenkirk, Bouwmeester or even Ian Cole, but they Blues aren't likely to trade any of them...and if the Flyers don't get a roster player...

No serious contending team is moving a top 4 defenseman midseason so Shattenkirk is going nowhere. I have heard the Flyers and Blues have been scouting each other all year but I cant think of any trade that makes sense for either team.

I like the young stable of forwards they have assembled, but they badly need defensive help. If it takes a young forward or two to land a good, fairly young defenseman, then I'm willing to do it.
