Just scared of Holmgren making that move, why Schenn for JVR went south so quickly after last season is a mystery. - puckhead17
Not really. Schenn's had a good year, bad year pattern his whole career. I had really hoped he found his game last season and would be building off it this season...thus far, nope |

So far this game looks like the Devils vs the Wild circa 2003 - BiggE
that's pretty much been the case in most games they've played so far this year. dull. sloppy. nothing happening. |

Unfortunately to acquire that you have to give something up and IMO they don't have that "player" or combination to even get those discussions started - jackfrost
I am aware of the cost, from a team with limited prospects worth a mention, others with promise but still developing they mainly have to deal from the current roster.
Some I'd be more willing to move than others, but this is something that could have been avoided for the most part if they drafted better, developed them better, & didn't give up on some so fast.

Yup their track record on drafting dmen is awful. When Jimmy Watson, 40+ years later, is still considered the best home grown dman in club history, well, that ain't good. |

hextall's not far behind in 1982, and it's not like he was targeted as the future considering he was a 6th round pick. |

I guess what bothers me the most and has in the past few seasons is the lack of drive, sense of urgency and overall intensity. That's been evident from before Lavy's arrival. They have two players who can take the heat standing in front and crashing the net when need be in Simmonds and Hartnell but how many times do you see the puck go across and not one Flyer is near the other side causing havoc
I don't know if its lack of skill, the system that is being utilized but it seems there is way to many chances for the other team to regroup and begin the rush up the other end |

1. Nice to see Guss jumping in and leading the transition on that last play. Its been a long time since I saw a Flyer d-man being able to do that, and cause me to smile.
2. This team is really poor at handling the puck. Look at the plays the caps are able to make, while these guys are just playing farmer hockey.
3. Timonen is having a great game. Are we sure that we would rather not buy-out Streit and keep Timonen on for another year at a reduce salary/role? I would. |

Heck their best draft might of been the original 67 expansion draft: Joe Watson, Van Impe, Parent and Dornhoefer, not a bad haul |
