The Flyers seem to have so much trouble stopping star players. It seems like every star player has ridiculous numbers against the Flyers.
I'm not going to lie. A little bit of me dies every time Crosby, Malkin and Ovechkin score against us. - PhillySportsGuy

He is revived by Crosby's tears. He has a few gallons of them stored from the 2012 playoffs in his garage. |

I like how you go into negotiations strong.
The Flyers have countered with 30 minutes of hard work and 10 minutes of moderately hard work. - PhillySportsGuy

Kind of hard to get excited about games with this crew.
Really wish they would call up one of Lauridsen or Alt. As well as giving Guss/Luke Schenn bigger minutes.
Might as well see what you have in these guys. Year is a throw away.
Although that would require the benching of the savior, Mark Streit who will continue to grow and evolve as an NHL player. |

The Flyers would also like to toss in 2 brain dead plays along the boards and 5 passes that cannot be handled coming out of their own zone. |

I'll say this; this isn't like "the season that shall not be named" at all. I hated just about everything about that team.
I think they have talent but not enough talent. It's been neat watching Couturier break out a little bit in the past few weeks and I hope I can see I've seen when Brayden Schenn does something more. |

Maybe Im batpoop crazy, but I would like to see what the youth down in the AHL have. Instead of continuing to hang on to some hope that this team makes it deep in the playoffs.
That way you know just how much you need to improve externally for next season, or if you may have some actual promise in your farm team.
Or we can go Ed Snider style. |

All are equally reprehensible, but I've ranked them based on ability to hurt a team with ways other than through sheer malice of action:

Stop russian the prospects - PhillySportsGuy
Oliver is 24, Alt is 22...I'm not sure they can be 'rushed' at this point, but I wouldn't bring Alt up until after the Phantoms season, if at all this year. Lauridsen should play next time they think about putting Mesz back in the lineup. |

I have my milk, and cookies ready for tonight's game. I will always cheer for my Flyers, but I don't think tonight is the night that they turn things around. Either they will fall behind early, or lose the game in the third; see the 60 minute reference of most of the posts.
I really feel bad for Mason. Losing is contagious, and if the team is playing poorly or returning to old bad habits, he may be doing the same thing. You can only carry the happy face so long, and then....
Also, remember that since Bob took over the starting roll in Columbus, Mason wasn't seeing as many games as he was used to. So, with the team's losing ways, and maybe being tired, is Mason due for a break? Can we give Emery some more playing time?
Just some thoughts. Go Flyers! |

It's just past the middle of December and, amazingly, the blue line has been remarkably healthy.
A few injuries, and you'll probably see quite a bit of some of these guys. |

I think the recent stretch of goals is due more to bad luck and poor play in front of him. I don't recall many goals being stoppable. If not for Mason, some of these games could be a lot worse. |

Alt has, what, 30 games of pro hockey under his belt? If this season truly is a "throw away" (we're, what, like 5 points out of the playoffs with 50 or so games to go?), then let's not give him a trial by fire where he's set up to fail. Let him learn pro hockey in the AHL, and if things go sour by mid-February, then we should think about it. Same for Lauridsen; a year and a quart or so of pro hockey, and apparently he's been working on his defense game and getting very good at it down with the Phantoms. Let him continue to refine it, and give him a shot, again, if things go sour later on. Right now, they're both better served getting top-4 minutes in Adirondack and working on their game. Won't get the same opportunity in the NHL. |

1. Tucker. Easily most despicable Leaf ever
2. Barnaby. Should be beaten soundly about the head and shoulders.
3. Avery. Sorry excuse for a human being.
4. Domi. I found him entertaining. No hate at all here, and I hate Leafs reflexively.
5. Stevens. Tons of respect for him. Keep your (frank)ing head up, Lindros! |
