The hesitance I have there is that simply being better than Gagner isn't enough. He needs to really fit with the future of this team. I think if anything we'd be better to keep Nuge, Gagner, Gordon and Arcobello as our centres until we can get a significant upgrade.

Depending on who X is, it improves upon our three main weaknesses and fosters continuity and growth as a unit.

he's young. he says some silly things.

ference hasn't been put in a position to succeed.
he's not a star, impact guy. he's a quality veteran leader, hardworker and savvy player.
put that dude on the 3rd pairing, or 2nd when injuries, lots of pk, and he'll be worth every penny imo

he's just not the guy to be our 2c behind nuge imo.
it's gotta be someone with different qualities than he possesses.
I think committing to him for 4 more years would be disastrous.
