Don't worry, I know the reason. His name is Ekblad - The-O-G
I think the reason the Oilers change their GM is because they are embarrassed to have the same guy go up to the podium and make a top 10 pick every year. |

Tried to write this in earlier, looks like it didn't take.
Why aren't you balaminy Bryzgalov. You blamed Dubnyk for every goal?
The problem with the team is outside the crease, and goes all the way to the upper management.
Get rid of Coach Steve Smith...why he has lasted this long who knows.
Best part of last night was Dubrusk's pizza 73 comment.
And I am starting to get tired of Flames fans asking why we traded Smid - luckynumbslevin
Bryz ended the night with a .949sv% and was the only reason the Oilers were in that game at all. He made a few brilliant saves along the way too. Dubnyk has posted sub-.900 save percentages in 13 games already this year. When Bryzgalov stops doing his job on a nightly basis then I'll start heaping blame on him. |

Look at that list of guys he let walk and is there any mistakes there? The list of trades are there any mistakes there? I don't think so. I like what he's done for the most part. Still work to do but getting there. I don't think this team is as far away as some do from success. |

What??? How many years has it been. A miracle fix? C'mon dude, you guys have not gotten any better the last 4 years. You have better players but it's clearly not translating to the ice. |

We traded Smid cuz he sucks. I'm at Flames games a lot and he is the same. Not good enough for top 4 and over paid for bottom pair. He can't clear the front of the net and makes his patented 3-4 mini cross checks then fishes the puck out of the net. |

I'm talking about Mact. He's only been at it less than a year. |

Steen re-signed to a 5.8 million per extension. Will still probably have about 8 in cap room to play with this offseason when all is said and done.

Good deal for them Steen is a damn good player(even if he's due for a little regression in scoring). I like that it's only 3 years for the Blues.
Blues, Kings and Hawks are going to run the West for awhile. Anaheim is pretty stacked with young prospects as well. |

He whiffed in bringing Jones back and signing Labarbera, Grebs and Acton/Hamilton, but I think the latter two were part of the Eakins package.
But most of the guys he let go were good calls. |

Overpaid? Who cares, the Flames and the Oilers aren't anywhere near the cap, nor to they need a ton of room.
If you don't think he can eat 15-20 minutes per night on the Oilers blueline then you are truly delusional. |

Yeah it's going to be a tough conference to make grounds in. Might have to wait for them to make a boneheaded mistake. I'd take a couple of role players off the Blues in a second (Berglund, Sobotka, Jackman and btoh Halak or Elliott for starters) |

Steen is good now, but he has been nothing but average his whole career. Although on a 3 year deal this is a perfect deal. |

He wasn't though that's the problem. He became a bottom pairing guy that was being outplayed by N.Schultz. |

Acton and Hamilton were tweeners at best, Acton was expected to make some sort of NHL impact but Hamilton was always a longshot. Jones, I rather sign him then force a rookie into the lineup. |

He doesn't do any worse on the oilers blue line, but he doesn't do any better either.
I don't think there's any 3/4/5/6 dman that could substantially improve the oilers Dcore. Conversely, at least one of the top pairing guys from about 27 other teams in the league could improve our team immensely |

He's been very good in St.Louis since 09/10. Last year he was very unlucky with his shooting percentage. |

Yeah he hasn't been bad but would you rather have paid Morrow 2.25 or Jones 1.5? It's an afterthought but he's certainly not worth his dough at the very least. |

After Clarkson's deal and with the cap projected to rise by upwards of 7 million, I think that extension is completely reasonable even after regression (both he and Backes). |

He was a 50 point player. Yes he plays two-way, but that doesn't make him great. He doesn't get the goals he has this year and what is he getting 4.5? |

Thing that sucks for Mac T is that a lot of guys like Morrow only want to play for contenders. And the rest usually hold out for the highest bidder. |

Morrow was never coming here. Vets in his position aren't finishing their career in Edmonton. Only the Belanger's of the world come here for that.
Morrow has made his money though and has never won the cup, not a good sign for Edmonton. |

Mact hasnt even had the job for a year and has done a few good things.
I also dont think the fix is as simple as many think. Markets probably pretty tough as well.
That said, this team is so easy to beat and ill agree that they should be better than basement of the league again in year 4 of our rebuild |

Yeah, I'm assuming a cursory overpay that may not have covered it (I chose Morrow because like Jones he's a 3/4th liner who makes 1.5).
going the Nashville route and shelling out for like six 3 million dollar 2nd/3rd line players might not be a terrible idea though. |
