Thing that sucks for Mac T is that a lot of guys like Morrow only want to play for contenders. And the rest usually hold out for the highest bidder. - Nucker101
You need to find the Gordon's and Ference's of the world that haven't made huge money and are willing to come here for a few years. Guys on one year deals are tough unless you hold out for Boyes and Gilbert. |

He was a 50 point player. Yes he plays two-way, but that doesn't make him great. He doesn't get the goals he has this year and what is he getting 4.5? - Lahey
His career averages in St.Louis since 2009/2010(82 game pace):
28.5 Goals
32 assists
60.5 Points
His luck with goals this year evens out since he was unlucky last year so I don't buy that.

Guys like Jagr go to the highest bidder. Guys like Morrow go where they can take a back seat on a great team. |

Points per game don't work for Hemsky, but they work for others? |

Never said said that. Hemsky's a pretty decent 2nd liner IMO. |

Significant injuries (although I think he's over those) and two-way ability are the key differences. Also, Hemsky isn't producing like Steen is right now. |

Yeah, Steen is definitely the better all-around player. |

Sure, but when Hemmer was producing he never got no benefit.
Not like Steen's injury history is all that much better either. |

For the record I never said Hemmer is better just that when we tried to use PPG for him we were told we couldn't a few years ago. |

He had one concussion (39 games) in 2011-12 and a couple minor injuries along the way whereas Hemsky missed all but 22 games in 2009-10 and almost half the season in 2011-12. Not a huge difference in % or games lost/games played, but a thing to consider is that Hemsky hasn't produced the same since his injuries while Steen is having a career year (unsustainable). |

Can we all just pray Steve Downie (frank)s some Flyer's wife so he can make it to free agency? He'd be a great addition. |

This re-build is on Lowe, not MacT. I'm giving MacT lee-way because he's trying and inherited a lot of problems. Although he's made some good moves, I don't like the Eakins signing, although a new GM should be able to bring in his own Coach. I also didn't like his 2 pressers where he made statements such as not moving his "core 8"(unless someone is willing to overpay) and promising months ago to make a bold move. Let's put that down to Rookie GM mistakes, not likely to be repeated. i'm hoping he'll be able to make the right moves to re-balance the Club, but he does need time to do that.
Lowe is a different story. He's in charge of everything on the Team, from the Scouts to the GM, who needs Lowe's approval to make a move. Aside from drafting the consensus #1 those years at the Draft, his scouts weren't effective in late rounds, where the real scouting talent shines through. Also the Team totally has the wrong mix of player types to be effective, as many of us know only too well. |

Dreger disagrees. He wanted Komisarek and a conditional 7th and was rejected |
