Don't get me wrong I won't complain if he scores 40 goals

Only a crazy person would. But your right 40 goal scorer is a special category that was overshooting it.

Kovy Scored 41 the year he was traded here got most of his goals with Atlanta that year before the trade and glided to 41 then never scored 40 while here. There was a shortened season so I think he was only with us for 1 full season to try and hit 40.

I'd don't want to be rude but this isn't the late 80's or early 90's. 40 goal scorers & 70 point players are superstars in today's NHL. In the last full season 2011-12 there were 4 players that scored over 40 goals & only 21 that generated more than 70 points. 2010-11, 4 & 24. 2009-10, 7 & 30 respectively. What those #'s show is goal scoring declining in the NHL. Which it has & is. We're talking about players like Kopitar, Vanek etc that score 25 to 40 goals & 70 points.

Expecting 30 to 40 goals & 60 to 70 out of Henrique is a fantasy in NJ. 20 to 25 goals & 55 to 60 points in this dead puck system is incredible production. Maybe if he got 1st line minutes & PP time he could hit 30+ goals & close to 70 points but with Zajac locked in as the #1 C that's not happening any time soon.

You guys aren't drinking out if the same kolade jar as BeBoer are you? Ha-ha!

I absolutely was being ridiculous saying i hope he turns out to a 40 goal scorer. Wasn't thinking straight but the 70 pts and possible 30-35 goals isn't that crazy stretch. Within two years he could be the #1 center depending on linemates and if he improves at all. Ideally we hope he can become a 70 pt guy but if all he is 50-65 pt range guy that's good too.

He played two full years, 2010-11 and 2011-12. 2010-11 was a terrible year for everyone involved but in 2011-12 he finished 37-46-83 in 77 games and I believe was 5th in the NHL in points. He could have very well hit 40 goals if he played all 82 games.

I think it's Brian Gionta who holds the Devils scoring record for a season and I still can't believe that

Agreed. NJ would have to open it up quite significantly to see Henrique generate really good #'s. Not well Uncle Lou holds the reigns.

That said Henrique should hit 25 goals & 55 to 60 points next season. Scoring 51 as a rookie probably raised our expectations on his long term potential. If he can garner at least 2nd line top 6 forward minutes & top 4 forward PP minutes he would exceed 60 points easily. Is that quantity & quality of minutes going to be available to him next season? Probably not but certainly should be the year following & if the NHL could find a way to bump up scoring even nominally that would help. Nothing they have tried yet is working.

Elais in 2000-01: 82GP 40-56-96

Parise in 2008-09: 82GP 45-49-94

Gionta in 2005-06: 82GP 48-41-89

I believe those are the top three.

That was the year Gomez put up 84 points too. 33 goals, 51 assists. Incredibly unreal.

He's not really coming back tomorrow is he, or is this just wishful thinking on his part?

Ryane Clowe (concussion) thinks he might be able to play on Friday.
"To be honest with you, I still haven't talked to anyone," Clowe said on Wednesday. "I don't know because today's a game day if I'll talk to anyone, but I think I could possibly play Friday. That doesn't mean I'm going to. But, I feel pretty good. I feel like I'm probably ready to go play now. I don't know if I will or when I will, but I just feel like I'm at a point now where I'm really close or if not right there." Clowe took part in Monday and Tuesday's practices. He hasn't played since Oct. 13.

Depends on what the plus is. I think Erat could work out alright for us. He played for Nashville for a long time and they are a defense first team like us so he has to be half decent at the other end of the rink and he has a bit of a scoring touch. He carries a big cap though but I don't mind the idea. He is obviously older then Brunner to so it all depends on what that + is. They gave up a top prospect to get him would they give up a top prospect or good pick to move him ?

Isn't Erat at 32 years old a little too young for the Devils?
