True we could take him out behind the Wachovia center and shoot him like a lame horse!

The worst part is, they're losing because they play dumb, undisciplined hockey.
Could they use more mobility and puck skills on the blue line? Sure. A winger who has a shoot first mentality? Yep.
But when they lose, it's generally because they play some stupid hockey. |

He's damn near close to last in the League in save %.
Team is what it is. A borderline playoff team, that will draft a 4 year project at pick # 13 - PLindbergh31
If things go really well, I could see them getting as high as sixth.
But unless Terry Murray gets a few Phantoms ready to rock for the second half, the thing we really have to worry about is injuries -- our depth at center is tricky, and let's face it: An injury or two on defense exposes us in all kinds of ways.
It's hard...I could see them making the playoffs and being a tricky matchup in the first round. But at the same time, a few players need to be a little better for me to believe that they won't dogfight for the eight spot for,the next three months. |

not sure how much dumb, undisciplined hockey weighs into 3 point shots getting through for goals. i know the first of which happened on the pp, from a hooking call to streit. generally, i agree with your point though. |

Yeah, then he'll be a $3.1mm cap hit in the AHL...Remember, under the new CBA, only $900K can be buried in AHL |

if they're not going to play him, and they can't trade him, they're better off at least with a 900k savings. |

Well, stupid play allowed them to get hemmed in their own end and it also led to a lot of blown opportunities in the other end. |

They need to,waive him, though -- maybe Murray can fix him down there, if he plays tough minutes. He can't help us now, and just leaving him in the box...Gosh. What a waste. We really needed him to help us.
Damn it. They are so close to being a really dangerous team...but I don't know how you get the pieces other than waiting. |

I'd be ecstatic if they waived him and he got claimed. He's played poorly. There's no two ways about it.
As far as addressing needs, it's possible, but they have to be smart. Trade for guys that fill needs, especially if you trade a valuable asset |

The 2nd half of it, anyhow...theyre not likely to suck bad enough to finish with a top 5 pick - Jsaquella
That's okay I figure a 10 - 14 spot |

I still think they squeak into playoffs. The East sucks & unlike a lot of the teams behind them, the Flyers are actually playing below their ability. The only team south of the Flyers in the Metro that is really underachieving is the Rangers. |
