There's some internet noise that Lecavalier might play tonight. I hope not, no need to rush him. |

He was gingerly skating last week. I have a hard time believing he's ready to go. Even if he's close, it would behoove the team to give him another week. They only have two games between now and the 28th. |

He's said that he's made great progress in the last few days, and from what I've read, he'll likely be playing by the time they're in Edmonton. |

That's good news. It will help offset the loss of Downey in the top 9. It will also delay the demotion of Hartnell to the 4th line. |

Okay so hed miss:
Columbus
Minnesota Wild
Edmonton
We could really use him for Columbus. Getting a win today is essential for keeping our playoff spot. Minnesota is another game we could use him for, but honestly I dont expect us to win that game. Lastly Edmonton should not pose too much difficulty so missing him might not be too terrible.
Overall Analysis: Losing Downie makes a huge hole in our lineup - FrmRusiaWifGlov
Yup outside of the 1st line, with VL and Downie out they are pretty short on playmakers. |

My preference is to keep him out another week, let him play against the Oilers. |

The only thing better than a line brawl is a women's line brawl.
Didn't the women get ridiculed for smoking cigars on the ice after they won last year? |

THat would be my preference as well. The Flyers aren't the type to err on the side of caution with injuries.

That'll make the loss of Downie easier. Now the lines will almost certainly be
12-28-93
10-40-17
19-14-24
76-18-36
Now Hartnell will have had opportunities on all of our top 3 lines. When he was on the top line, their play was bad. When he was on the 2nd line, their play was bad. If the 3rd line's game goes stale over the next 3 or 4 games while he's on it, expect him to shift further down the lineup instead of back up. |

Guess I don't understand outrage (mostly from media) about Lecavalier returning. Doctors say he can't injure his back worse by playing.
Frank Seravalli
@DNFlyers
Concern w/ him playing is back spasms. They are uncomfortable. But they could also come up even if he waited until Dec. 30 and then played. |
