Canada WJC roster finalized. Scott Laughton & Taylor Leier make the team - Jsaquella
I would hope Laughts made the team, they named him captain days ago. |

The Sharks are basically the Flyers West, moreso than the Kings...lot of teams that could've won a Stanley Cup, and always fell short for whatever reason. - Jsaquella
in bold, currently?
maybe things aren't so gloomy after all.
kidding.
I really hope management is noticing the defensive deficiency this team is displaying night after night, I know as a fan it's pi$$ing me off & depressing me all at the same time |

They have a bad mix, especially on defense. They'll try to fix it, and I'm not sure if i will like the attempt

Now Gus out, although he isn't a "world beater" by any stretch further declines what is already a slow immobile defense.
It's getting hard to watch on most nights, I know a current day Eric Desjardens will be much harder to come by, but this should be priority #1, and they are kidding themselves otherwise. |

As far as the talk about this team's untouchable core going forward:
Giroux, Voracek, Couturier, Read, Mason, Laughton, Morin, Hagg.
Players we should explore trading, for the right return:
BSchenn, Simmonds, Hartnell, Grossmann, LSchenn, Timonen, Mesz.
Players I'd love to sign/acquire:
Yandle, Enstrom, Edler, Moulson, Pacioretty, Franson, Giordano.
Perhaps Schenn bros and picks for Yandle?
Simmonds and Grossmann for Giordano and a pick?
I saw on the twitter machine that there may be a rumor of Pacioretty being a trade target for the Flyers. BSchenn straight up for him, or Simmonds +.

I saw that, it's ridiculous to say the least, a winger is not a priority
also, I don't think anyone can debate untouchables, after Carter & Richards |

If the Habs traded Pacioretty fr Brayden Schenn, the fans would riot, burn down the Bell Centre, Hang, tar & Feather, Draw and Quarter and behead Marc Bergevin...and then they'd get nasty.
Pacioretty would be a perfect fit for the Flyers top line. Not getting him for less than Couturier +. He's had a 30 goal season, and was on pace for another last year, and again this year...he'd cost an arm & leg and probably a testicle, too |

They definitely need defense help, first and foremost. I'd love to add a shoot first winger to play with Giroux & Voracek, but right now the need on defense is so drastic... |

I would be willing to move 2 forwards at this point, for the correct player of course
I think the absolute priorities are
#1 & #2 defense
#3 a scoring "please shoot first" winger.
just a side note, Jake scores by SHOOTING, & last night he tried 3 passes that weren't options, all near the front of the net, or in the circle with a shooting angle.
maddening! |

I agree. I doubt they can all be added by the TDL, though. Can get a defenseman now, then add a defenseman & winger in summer, especially if they can jettison a contract or two for picks |

Just, what you stated earlier, what & who?
Please, no more older "past their prime" players, that will only put us in a deeper hole,
We will have to purge someone to get quality

I fear something dumb. But, there's also the possibility of a desperate GM trying to save his job with a shake-up trade. |

I (laughing at in bold), keep wishing Nashville goes into a bad scoring slump, we seem like perfect trade partners, (Ekholm?), not that he would be a saviour, but for starters |

I'm thinking they do something like the Schenns & Simmonds for Byfuglien and a couple of others. Maybe Little, maybe Frolik, maybe a guy like Paul Postma...You have a GM in Winnipeg that has to do something, and he's got some valuable pieces to make a move with. |

I had those exact players in thought as well (previously), all in the sudden "Buff" doesn't seem so horrible.
But I don't see him going anywhere while Enstrom struggles. |
