Nice win!
Very rarely do I see Simmonds lumped into that group considered the Flyers young core of Jake/G/B.Schenn but I think he belongs in there. - Pixote Andolini
I've felt this way the moment he got here and he is. I hope so too, he's signed here for along time. |

Watching Lecavalier tonight and seeing him live Saturday, I can't help but think this guy's talent is being wasted by having him on the second unit of the PP and having him play wing to Read and Couturier. No disrespect to those two players but Lecavalier needs to be running things at center and playing with two natural wingers on each side. - Schenn2shine
I thought VL looked very strong tonight.
I like him playing with Couts, 2 big guys. |

That one, and one in New York where Cam Talbot had puck frozen but no whistle, and it just crept in...weird night |

he definitely deserves to be considered in that group for sure. but if youre going to acquire any sort of decent d, someone good is gonna have to go. hartnell's not going to fetch anything. |

yeah crosby must be tired of so many of his awesome passes going right through dupuis' wheelhouse. |

Ok, time to hand out the award cause that's gotta be one of the oddest goals ever scored! |

There is still a chance we could sign a defenseman like Dion Phaneuf. |

I thought Read and Vinny had some moments of really solid chemistry out there tonight. Although it did seem Vinny and BSchenn clicked early, and it would be nice to get 3 lines going when Downie comes back. |

That goal Backstrom let in last night. That odd knuckler from Coburn a game or two ago that hit the ice 20'+ out and still found it's way in the net.

Is there a fear he'll go back home, cause if he needed a push, he's probably getting it. |

definitely true. my initial dislike of any team acquiring him was more due to what he will likely command cap wise than him as a player. although with the cap going up whatever it will, that worry may be mitigated a little bit.
but anyway, i was mainly talking about should you guys try to deal for one. outside of phaneuf, there really isnt jack poop out there. im not joking when i say matt niskanen will likely get a carle level deal |

eh yes and no to an extent i think. yeah, it would be sweet to see what crosby could do with a really skilled linemate, but at the same time dupuis' speed and hustle fit pretty well with crosby. and just being realistic, who else could they put there? they really dont have a ton of forward depth, especially of the top level winger variety |

I'm a (frank)in good luck charm. I have gone to 1 game per year for the last 15 years with exception of the lockout, and they have won every single game I've been to. |

I wanted to share a couple of things with you guys about my road trip to Columbus Saturday and ask a question direct at the Philly locals.
First, I highly recommend going to see a Blue Jackets game. At the beginning of a game, chicks! During every commercials, chicks! During every intermission, chicks! After every goal, chicks! After the game, chicks! Oh and they have a sweet cannon too.
Now my question to Philly locals are, which Flyers do you find are the most fan friendly? I ran into Scott Hartnell. I wasn't wearing my Jersey at the time but I saw him, he saw me and he saw the look of surprise and shock on my face. The guy didn't look approachable at all and he was listening to his ipod. It didn't change my opinion of him but would it have killed him to nod or smile?
30 seconds later I ran into Ian Laperriere. I sprinted to him. I approached him and man, what a prince! The guy couldn't be more nice. I wanted to talk hockey but I was so star struck that all I could get out were the two pucks to his face and his role on this is 40. He talked with me for awhile. He practically walked around most of the side of Nationwide Arena to help me find someone to take our picture together. He suggested the smokers in the smoking section outside. I'm still very impressed by that man. - Schenn2shine

It was a horribly officiated game. Very inconsistent, lot of valid penalties went ignored and some of the calls made were very weak. |

So many points to ponder. First, Flyers are 3-0 when my kid plays. We all loved it and he played well. Thanks for the positive comments.
Second, Not sure why anyone's interested in Phaneuf or Gardiner. Has TOR been a dominate team? Are they known as defensive juggernot? Hell no. Homer got Pronger for less than what Phaneuf will command. Subban is a RFA at the end of the season and we can get him for a bag of cash.
Third, Simmonds is absolutely a core player. Figure all of the top 9 are young except for Hartnell and VL.
Fourth, any trade is about clearing a spot for Scott Laughton to play or acquiring Subban |
