Our second line has to be changed up. Hartnell and Simmonds aren't good on a line together and Schenn is struggling at center.
Bright side for tonight's match up is we do not have to face Josh Harding. - Schenn2shine
agreed.
backstrom is still quite capable though. |

Rather see VandeVelde than McGinn. I've noticed VandeVelde in every game he's played. McGinn disappears a lot more frequently. |

I would def bring Lauridsen up. I like Hal Gill as a locker room guy, he has had a nice career, but Luaridsen can do everything he can and should be part of the Flyers future. - flyers2001
You know what they should do with good locker room guys who can't play any more? Make the coaches. This signing of the dead weight annoys me. And I love Hal Gill. |

The new icing rule allows Gill to not have to move all the way back to touch, that will extend him for a few more years |

I think if the duct tape on Grossmann's knees ever gave way and he was on the shelf for an extended period of time, I don't think Gill would slide into that spot. I think they would call up Lauridsen.
I think they intend to just spot Gill for a game or two in the event of injury. - johndewar
Which I'm fine with.
I've actually been impressed with Grossmann's resiliency this season. I was pretty sure he was concussed by a elbow in a preseason game against Washington, but he was fine. |

I like McGinn. But really, I'm not going to waste 3 pages debating my preference of McGinn on the 3rd line over Valveeta. |

He's played solid hockey. Also, since he's become a regular they have been able to use the 4th line more minutes per game, and Rinaldo's actually been more effective, drawing more penalties and avoiding the box himsef. |

Hasn't he been also used on the PK?
I like he and Raffl as better options on the PK then Rinaldo |

A lot of those guys can be highly effective 4th liners, provided they're willing to work hard and play a certain style.
A guy like Peter White could never seem to understand that by working on his defensive game, he could be a regular in the NHL, instead of leading the AHL in scoring |

He's seen some PK time, but it's been sparingly. |

Meh, McGinn doesn't even really produce at an AHL level all that consistently. He will always be a tweener.

Like I said I could care less if its McGinn on the 3rd line or Vaner sloot. The major idea behind it was dropping Hartnell to the 4th line. Either way, once Downie is back it wont matter. |

You might want to make mention of that in your first response. Easy enough to say, "Well that's fine, but my main point is to demote Hartnell to the 4th line" Far more understandable when you highlight your main point |

It is completely possible, but I feel like he deserved a shot. When he has played this year, he has been more productive then any other call-up we have had. Probally even Raffl if you go by points per game. IMO its just a shame that just because of what scouts think about him, he gets passed over, despite what he has done while he was on the team.
I'm not a hure McGinn fan, but I think he deserved better then he got. Sure come up, score more goals in 3 games then anyone on the team through 10, but we are still sending you down and bringing everyone else but you up.
To be honest, I wouldnt mind seeing Cousins or Straka getting a quick look either. Valveeta also earned his shot. Like I said, it doesn't matter to me who you pencil in there. And that is why I wasn't going to discuss it for 3 pages. |
