Well, first of all, Morin can't come up until the end of his junior year. So, no.
Alt has a grand total of like 40 games of pro hockey under him, so I don't think he's gonna be a key piece of turning this season around. And McGinn is what he is: a big-bodied bottom-6 player who can crash the net and bang some bodies while potting some goals here and there.
As for the idea of blowing up half of the team (with the exception of Meszaros) for 2 guys (and then having to back-fill the massive amounts of holes you just created), I can't get on board. I'm not saying be afraid to make trades, but trading 2/3 of your top-6 for 2 top-6 and 1 defenseman and bringing back Jagr for 40 games is probably not the best solution, this season or going forward. - jmatchett383
I live on the wild side =) I just dont want to see them screw themselves by getting rid of these young guys without giving them a chance.. So weather they played 40 games or none at all i feel a chance for them to be brought up would be better then what we got right now |

Im not saying i personally would like to see Voracek go but i feel in order to get someone to compliment Giroux he is going to wind up being the main piece of a trade as well as Schenn and Simmonds... I like both Voracek and Simmonds but i just feel that with Simmonds and Hartnell being the same kind of player, Simmonds being the better of the two and McGinn being the same type of player but able to pot as many goals as simmonds, its just stupid they havent brought him up to stay... They need to pull the trigger on something involving Hartnell... - Flyers-All-Day
If we trade Jake, B Schenn and Simmonds, it had better be one hell of a return. |

I'd say that Voracek already does a pretty good job of complimenting Giroux.
McGinn hasn't shown he can pot as many goals as Simmonds. McGinn is likely never going to be anything more than a bottom six winger, who scores sporadically and then disappears for a stretch. That's part of why he got sent down last time-because despite 3 goals in six game, he went without a single shot in 3 of those 6 games.
Saying he can easily replace Simmonds is a stretch.
I'm with you on moving Hartnell, but I don't expect to get much value for him.

How are they screwing themselves? They're not "getting rid of them." They're letting them (again, Morin can't be brought up until April) develop in the minors.
And no, there's little to no chance that they'll be better than what they are using right now. That's why they're in the AHL. Not to mention a trial by fire thrown into a position to fail is not always the best way to bring along a player's confidence. |

I am wondering: to where would Hartnell accept a trade? Nashville and Pittsburgh (so he can play the whole heel-to-face angle)? Maybe NY/NJ/NYI? |

I've heard rumors that he'd agree to go to Nashville, Calgary, Edmonton or Toronto. No idea how valid those are, but that's what I have read. |

I'm guess that means there have been conversations with him about possibly being traded? |

Edmonton could use everything except for top-6 forwards. They're pretty good at drafting them. |

If one believes The 4th Period, when Sheldon Souray was an Oiler, he shot down a trade that would send him here for Hartnell. Hartnell had a NTC at the time, but no mention of him saying no to Edmonton |

So, which of you fools are going to shell out $250+/ticket to the 2015 Flyers @ Caps Winter Classic to watch guys on an "authentic outdoor rink" where you can kinda make out what's going on because of poor viewing angles? |

I have zero desire to sit out in the cold, with a bad angle, to watch a game. Let alone pay through the nose to do it |

He's played solid hockey. Also, since he's become a regular they have been able to use the 4th line more minutes per game, and Rinaldo's actually been more effective, drawing more penalties and avoiding the box himsef. - Jsaquella
I'm beyond convinced that when there's an "enforcer" dressed (i.e. Rose hill or last year Shelly), Rinaldo for whatever reason gets off his game and plays stupid hockey. |
