The difference between Hartnell those years, and Hartnell now is, that in those seasons, when he wasn't producing, he was a pain in the ass to play against. He forechecked hard, got under people's skin and created havoc. He's not doing that.
For him to be effective as a top six player, he needs to do those things. - Jsaquella
Agreed! Hartnell seems to think he's some kind of top sniper ever since he had that one breakout season. He's a power forward, or supposed to be. He is most effective and valuable when he is a pain the a** to the opposing team, crashing the net, and winning battles along the boards. He seems to want to be the scorer and playing the perimeter game! Part of the Giroux, Voracek resurgence can be attributed to Raffl doing the things Hartnell USED to do. I like Scott, but he needs to re-evaluate his purpose, and re-commit to that, or be relegated to 4th line play. |

That part in bold isn't exactly the best example regarding command of the English language.

Rangers and Devils both lost tonight. Flyers need to win Saturday to put just a bit more light between them and those following behind. |

rarely do these kind of guys ever make it FA
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 42s
Aside from a couple of details, Phaneuf and the Leafs are very close on a 7 year, $7 mil per contract extension. Term was key |

It's not surprising, it why the Flyers almost certainly need to trade for one, or at least a guy who could become a close approximation of one. |
