Watched the episode last night, and the water bottle sequence is by far the top moment of the night.

NMC will say otherwise.. and improve? he's regressed steadily for 6 years now
- Dozzer

Every good player has a NMC/NTC... All it means is that the Leafs won't get poop all back for him if he's traded down the road, but they won't get poop all anyway if they trade him at the deadline like you're advocating.

If Gomez can be traded I think Phaneuf can be traded.

Both Gomez and Brian Campbell had 7 million dollar contracts during the previous CBA where there was a lower cap and they STILL got traded.

- Aaron85

Even Dany Heatley was traded.

I respect your opinion, that you label truth, but I think he is one of the better defensive Dmen in the game. His offense has decreased, but I really dont care much for that. The whole teams offense has decreased this season, and the whole team is struggling to play D.
- systemtool

nowhere close.. all a guy has to do with DP is go to the outside with speed.. he gets beat that way 80% of the time

The better of the two options right now yes. And not ruin Gards and Rielly by rushing them into roles they are nowhere close to ready for? Well worth it.

We're a better team with Phaneuf, Gardiner and Rielly than we are with Gardiner and Rielly.

- systemtool

It will end up being another buyout contract...Leafs should have learned that lesson by now...

Trade phaneuf for whatever u get move Franson up...Franson/Gunnar...Rielly/Gardiner ya top 4 ....

The D will suck short term but if u didn't notice it sucks now with Phaneuf..Good news would be u not sporting a ugly contract on the back end for the next 7yrs...

Move Franson up to top pairing??

I'd be looking at moving Franson down the bottom pairing. He is one of the worst defensive defenseman on a team that is not very good defensively.

I would agree with this except Phaneuf hasn't had a solid player to play with. Holzer? Kostka? Gunner? Not the greatest guys.

Give him Seabrook and see what happens.

He is matched up against the other teams top guns game in and game out and for the most part contains them.

I don't like him getting 7 mil a year dozzer, but he is above average defensively.

Wow, the past three weeks have been horrendous for that. Unbelievable how many pucks are going in off of him.

agree wholeheartedly on franson

playing against third and fourth lines he is adequate defensively... against scoring lines he is next to useless

Funny Shea weber have dropped dramatically since he lost Suter. Hhhmmmm must just be a fluke though that happens.

but they dont bounce.. he hits them in with his stick.. last game is a perfect example.. he pulled his stick back to try and clear and just back handed the puck into the net.
