Me too. It's painful to watch and unenjoyable, but at this point, I have to see how it ends. |

Coburn would probably win the Barry Ashbee trophy right now. - PhillySportsGuy
Coburn gets bashed on some Flyers websites, but the Flyers management must think better of him. He plays 22:30 minutes per game ( 39th in the NHL ), a 5.7 shot pct, which is higher than Raffl, Kimmo,Downie and Streit, just to name a few. He plays 4:00 minutes per game on the PK and usually plays against the other teams top lines and he's only a minus-3 considering he only gets 17 seconds a game on the PP. He has 2 game winning goals, which puts him in second place behind Giroux. Coburn is not one of the problems on the Flyers. He can skate like the wind and he's 6'5"/220 lbs. I just wish he would get a mean streak and really play more physical. |

That was a bad read but it took a great pass from Malkin to make it happen. On the flip side, he had nuetralized Malkin countless times. Without his effort there, maybe Malkin produces more opportunities and the Pens capitalize. Who knows its conjecture and what ifs from that point, but I think grossmann has been very solid - KINGKENZO
Yes...like any defenseman, there will be mistakes you can point to if you wish...but when taken in its entirety, Grossmann's game is quite solid imo. Personally, I think he's underrated and one of the better Defensive D men in the league. For every mistake he makes he's also making numerous solid plays that may not be as obvious. If people think the Flyers have trouble getting the puck out of the D zone now, you don't want to see what it would be like without Grossmann back there, physically punishing forecheckers to force pucks free and being strong on the puck and getting it up to the forwards...worth noting also here is that he doesn't take a lot of penalties for the physical type of game he plays...he also isn't as slow as people make him out to be...he can join the play, make some solid keep ins and can get the puck into the slot/net area adequately, and it isn't often that he is beat back if they lose the zone. Though he's far from perfect, I think it's fair to say that Grossmann is providing value commensurate with his pay. I'm a fan. |
