Fraser for Sedins?

Kidding aside JVR has to be under untouchables starting to show why he was a second overall pick and will hopefully keeping improving. He's is becoming a elite power forward now that he knows to use his size. Imagine if we had a coach that knew how to use offence player

- Yeti1181

1st I like JVR. I even suggested a Schneider for JVR package when he was in Philly. But the value for Edler is close. Edler is basically Dion. Great talent mixed with poor decision making. How close are edler and dions new contracts? And just imagine how good JVR could be if he was a abortion defensively?

Yeah cause JVR for edler makes a whole lot of sense
- Yeti1181

The value is comparable. Edler is our Phanuef. Just cause u like JVR doesn't up his trade value from the player he is.

In my opinion the value isn't close JVR value to the leafs vs what edler value to the leafs isn't close. That's what I'm getting at. The Fraser sedin was just to annoy you guys
- Yeti1181

It might not make sense, but the "value" isn't far off.

JVR is a top-6 winger, and Edler is a top-pairing D.

I know you were trying to annoy us. There's really no other explanation—Edler is an allstar D who hits, blocks a ton of shots, and puts up points, while Fraser is a fourth-line plug.

The comparison is ridiculously hyperbolic and unnecessary.

Looking at there stats from the last two years with dion having better numbers on a worse team I would say edler is not anything like dion IMO.

Edler has 9 points and is -12 this year that is a not top pairing numbers JVR is a top line player. Edler last two years have not been very good at all.

Both are inconsistant top pairing d men. One season dions numbers are better, the nest Edler.

As I said Gardiner/Franson and Kadri for Edler and a 3rd. And don't give me the whole we could get Sidney Crosby and a 1st for Gardiner. The guy is basically mDZ

This is hilarious.

Their stats are pretty similar the last two seasons.

Dion had 6 more points in 3 mor games last season, and Has 5 more points in 11 more games this season.

Yeah, those wide margins really make the two nothing alike

Next you're going to tell me Dion's +/- makes him better defensively, right?

Believe me, we've all seen enough of Dion to know what a gong show he is in his own zone.

Sample size.

So if a player who has put up big numbers most of his career has a stretch of 20ish games where he isn't matching his career average, he's automatically not a top player anymore?

Sure...

Well edler plays on a better team shouldn't he have a better plus minus then dion who has bad hip gunnarson to play with. At least Edler has capable partners Dion ain't got poop. Points are really that big of a deal for defence however if you put up points you shouldn't have a bad plus minus.

He was good when he played with Regher. Boumeester and him weren't a very good pairing though.
