Didn't like 2 of those trades... the perry one and and the Paveloc one.... mostly because i don't believe the draft pics are worth that much....

Not to state the obvious, but when dealing with draft picks it's always important to temper expectations and accept the fact that even the best of a draft will take at least a few years to develop and reach any sort of significant relevancy (just look at all the hype over Drouin, Mackinnon, Barkov etc - of course odds are that they will become excellent players - possibly even super-stars down the road but it's going to take some more seasoning, experience, physical growth and training, and adjustments to the much higher skill level of the NHL)

It's a bit of an interesting phenomenon, actually, which I believe was touched on by several posters during the pre-draft days this summer. Namely, how the excitement and hype during this period always seems to result in unreasonable expectations (even for the top tier players selected).

Of course, in a dynasty league, I think it's safe to say that most mangers covet at least the top ten picks, in terms of players possibly making an immediate impact, and certainly as concerns building a young, talented team for years to come.

All in all, there are some interesting dynamics involved, especially what sort of approach each manager has. It makes things that much more interesting

Went to see the send play the canucks about 10 yrs ago. My sister was living in Ottawa, so her boyfriend and I went up. Wore my canucks jersey, cheered when we scored. Dude behind me started heckling a bit, all in good nature. I sit down and the guy leans ahead and tells me how much he hates the send and hopes the canucks beat them. Obviously after his heckling I gave him a strange look. He then told me he was actually a bruins fan and got his jersey tore off about 2 yrs earlier when the bruins were in town and laid a thumping on ottawa
