We should know if the Canucks are a play off team by the end of this month. I still maintain that they will be lucky to make the post season this year. |

Where is everyone today? This is as quiet as I have ever seen it once a new blog has been put up.
I agree with Torts assessment on how his team played. Very uninspired hockey. If they felt like I did yesterday that would explain a lot.
New years was a good time. Fireworks, Prime rib and Yorkshire pudding, an excessive amount of drinks. I had an extreme hangover.(that means I kicked ass)
Happy New Year ALL! |

When they make playoffs they will surprise everyone in this year but I think the west will be tough for everyone searching for a spot. They will make the playoffs this season I have no doubts on this. |

I think if we could add one top 6 forward SOmEHoW, we could surprise in the playoffs. Crazy as it sounds, I'd almost prefer Chicago first round do as not to have to endure an ultra physical series off the hop. Them or Anaheim. |

It appears as tho Father Time has caught up with the Sedins. They look slow/lethargic and when the (frank) is Daniel gonna become a shooter again? They need him to shoot more..... |

I've heard as early as 3 weeks from now. Although I'd be a little skeptical of that. I don't think NSH will rush him back being that they are so far out of the playoff picture. |

They always go through stretches like this, nothing new. Their style can keep them competing at a high level for many more years. |

A few years ago though even with the slumps you could foresee Daniel still reaching 35 goals, he won't make. 30 this year. He is starting to decline ,it happens to everyone.

I think he's been working a lot on his skating this season and his shot has been effected by it. |

That is a HUGE risk/reward kinda speculative move for me, Hiller is a UFA and could likely be traded at the deadline. If Fasth turns out to be what everyone projects him to be, it should turn out to be an okay deal for me... or not. Just part of enjoying being in a hockey pool. |

Have they ever not been slow/lethargic looking? On the best of days they look like they're skating in quicksand (always have). IMO, their issue is a lack of a legit complimentary linemate & secondary scoring. So easy to shut them down the way this team is built. |

Their secondary scoring hasn't been as big an issue this season so far but a complimentary line mate has been for years. |

The secondary scoring might be there this year, but I can guarantee you the opposition isn't scared of our 2nd 3rd or 4th lines. Until there's a 2nd line that deserves respect, all opponent resources will be put toward shutting down the Sedins. |
