Every player has a specific role on the ice. Power forwards are used for specific strategy. Edmonton Oilers need a power forward badly. We're lucky to have guys like Scott Hartnell and Wayne Simmonds. You don't win without them. - Schenn2shine
You dont have to tell me about players and thier roles. I'm just not happy with Hartnell's decline, and both players streakyness. In fact, on 5 on 5 you will more then likely see Hartnell at the top of a circle then in front of the net. |

Yes. The league-wide interest in a guy like Simmonds shows that he can easily be replaced. - jmatchett383
A lot easier to replace a power forward then a top defenseman. |

I would keep Simmonds but Chicago don't have a power forward. - Feanor
Dustin Byfuglien played a pretty large role to winning a Cup in 2010 against us as a Power Forward. Brian Bickell played a pretty significant role as a power forward in winning their most recent Cup. |

Actually I think I do. We don't even score a goal without Scott Hartnell and Wayne Simmonds last night without them doing exactly what they do. Wayne Simmonds is tied with Jake Voracek with 27 points, this is second on the team. Scott Hartnell has the only most recent point streak going with 7 points in six games. |

Right, and what happens when both go cold again for 2 months. I know we need power forwards, I just dont think we need Hartnell. And IMO Simmonds Trade Value is much higher then his value to the team, so I would sell high, before he goes cold again, and just looks like a smaller version of Donald Brashear again. It's feast or famine for both guys. I think outside of a PP guy hartnell is done. And Simmonds could be a major piece to get the defensman we need. I'm not looking at winning this season, I'm talking about future. |

Dont have anyone in particular. But remember there are going to be more FAs then that are on that list with another year of compliance buyouts available. No telling who hits that list. |

How is Wayne Simmonds a comparable version of Donald Brashear, bcause they're both black?? Donald Brashear was an enforcer that I just so happen could play the game. He got little to no power play time. Brashear was only really in a checking role. |

I was reading about a Toronto player, Komarov, who is currently in the KHL. He is an energy guy, but sounds a little like "Car Bomb." However, if you can tone him down a little bit, he might turn out to be like Downie. I remember when Downie came into the league, and was a little uncontrolled. That being said, he has turned out to be a decent energy guy. Here is a link to his page:

I wonder if he would fit in better than Rosehill or VandeVelde in the line-up.
Your thoughts? Thanks. |

That's racist that you think its because they are black. The reason is, because when Simmonds goes cold... once he stops scoring, he cant handle the puck, he cant make passes. He just goes around, hits people and sometimes fights. I would say Simmonds is Dr. Jekly and Mr. Hyde. One day he plays the game like Bertuzzi in his prime, the next he plays like Donald Brashear. |

My thought is the Flyers are not the best team to "tone" a player down. That Flying P is a target for guys like him, Rinaldo, and Carcillo. |

Hey, if there isnt a deal to be had, then there is no reason to trade Simmonds. But with his value so Freckin high right now, there is no reason not to kick the tires. |

?!?!?!?!?!?!
Simmonds value to the team is very high. He snd hartnell are the only forwards thst go into the dirty areas. These are they types of platers you need come playoff time. I wouldnt move either unless im getting more than I give. Simmonds will score 25 -30 a year. Many of those will be from busted plays, rebounds and deflections. He may not be a "skill" player, but his skill is tough to come by. Although, I will say, it is painful at times to watch him carry the puck, it seems he fakes himsrlf out when he trys to be fsncy with it....hahaha |
